I was able to very quickly format this hard drive for my mac and immediately begin using it. I ordered the 12 TB version which still loads relatively fast and file transfer speeds are not bad. Overall a very reliable and fast drive that can store a lot of pics/vids. 5 |

I use windows 8.1 quite often. On this mac, all drives (except the internal flash drive) are external. Windows runs great off Thunderbolt connected drives. You can have multiple window drives and select the one you want on boot by holding down the option key. 5 |

Easy to format for use on both Mac and Windows computers. Took me just. a couple minutes to set up. Like the small footprint, light weight, and fact that it is bus powered. I will use it to store and backup photos I take when traveling, plus to store my music library for use when on the road. 5 |

My Passport Portable Hard Drive has been been really easy to use and reliable. Since it doesn't require power, it's really practical and doesn't slow down the computer, like many bulkier hard drives. I already had a 1TB My Passport and was really impressed, so I bought a 2TB. Mac users have to format the drive, though, but it's really easy. The hard drive came with set up files on it, I wasn't sure what to do with them. Since I had to format it they end up deleted. I haven't needed them. 5 |
