Mac Canon Scanner Software

I am very, very pleased with this scanner. I have worked with all-in-one (AIO) Cannon, HP, & Epson scanners in the past & found Epson’s scanner to be the fastest, but clunky with Mac software. The RR-600W is my first use of a dedicated scanner & it has left be with a huge positive impression. I have scanned hundreds of documents in the past & this has converted hours into minutes of work. First, unlike every AIO I have worked with, this can use 5GHz wifi, drastically increasing speed. Second…Duplex scanning is a huge timesaver…no sorting, & no speed loss. I can use the touchscreen to select the applicable computer to upload to & the computer can handle dumping massive amounts of documents of many standard sizes to include receipts up to legal format, & it does it automatically. Epson designed their own management software, but included Kofax Power PDF for both Windows & Mac as an option. I import using epson to a folder, & you can target that folder with any software you want. The scan speed is terrific…it feeds as fast as dropping a sheet on the floor. Overall, I am greatly impressed & this is definitely worth every penny if you do even a moderate amount of scanning. This is a review for the Epson RR-600W Wireless Duplex Touchscreen Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test & review.

I bought this scanner to enable the archiving of the many 35mm slides that I sitting in boxes. The scanner is connected to a Mac and, since the quick scan software is not functional on a Mac, Iam using the included Silverfast software. It works quite well, and I am able to scan directly into Photoshop using its included plugin.

I have used this scanner, and its nearly identical predecessor DR-4010C for nearly 20 years. It is heavy duty and reliable, with no issues or problems. After closing my law office, I scanned and converted several hundred boxes of client files to PDF computer files, before shredding all the paper. This scanner easily processed everything, and more, and continues to work well. I quickly scan whole books to PDF computer files, before converting them to text with OCR software, so the computer can read them using text-to-speech software. It just keeps on working as it should. This is the singularly best piece of office equipment I ever purchased. There is good reason Canon still makes this model with no apparent changes. You bet, I would buy it again. Sidebar Observation - I enjoy using this scanner with Canon's new I.R.I.S. PDF and OCR program, which works well and is well worth its comparatively low price. I have used most of the other major OCR and PDF programs, including, but not limited to, PaperPort, OmniPage, TextBridge, ABBYY OCR, Foxit PDF, Adobe Acrobat, Nitro PDF, and several others programs, and Canon's I.R.I.S. application is my current favorite. Fantastic scanner for a decent price. Tested on Windows 10 using Canon's software and on Ubuntu 20.04 using both scanimage and Canon's scangear. Only physical complaint is that the lid cannot be locked, but rubber bands work find. There is a lock switch on the bottom but this seems to only prevent it from scanning. Note that the resolutions between 600 and 4800 dpi are not accessible in the general CanoScan options, only in the Scangear view.

I am in the process of digitizing photos. I did not want to wear out my combination printer/scanner so I purchased this Canon scanner for photo duty. My printer/scanner is a Canon so the software integrates with both with no problems. One thing that is a huge benefit with the Canon software is it will automatically crop the photos when they are scanned...depending on the physical size of the photos, put as many as possible on the flatbed (there must be some space between for proper cropping) and the software will automatically crop the individual pictures. This is a huge time saver. I have already scanned close to two hundred photos and have several hundred more to go. I am confident that the LIDE300 will continue the job. There are other types of photo scanners that are more proficient but this model is by far the most economical. Scanning time is quick. By the time I get the next batch out of the album, the scan is done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Canon R40 document scanner is a lifesaver for scanning and digitizing documents. I have been putting off purging the paper documents in my large file cabinet - and I finally got the R40 and it has been a workhorse for me. I can scan a stack of papers into a pdf in a matter of minutes. The setup was super easy - go to the site and download the Windows or Mac software (I have a Mac), install it, plug in the scanner and start scanning. I couldn't be happier with this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Epson WorkForce ES-580W Scanner is an excellent document scanner. Setup and software install was straightforward. The software is user-friendly, it allows you to name, save, and direct the pdf files. It will also automatically rotate the document 180 degrees, no matter how you feed it. I love that I can scan any document size and type; from receipts to legal format documents to newspaper clippings. The scanner is very fast, at 35 pages per minute. The scan quality is very good. The Epson WorkForce ES-580W Scanner an excellent scanner. I highly recommend.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR Wireless Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. A fantastic Buy. The price was several hundred less than other fast comparable scanners. The Epson software works very good, but does take a little work to fully understand. The scanner is very fast and produces extremely good results for the speed. The included software helps to define better looking results. The setup is so easy, just go Wireless, and your all set. I can scan from any of the three computers that I have in my office. I only need One Scanner, but I know that I bought the Best One Out There. This is my First Epson Product but I am very pleased with the performance and the results. I woudl highly recommend this Scanner to Others needing a fast business scanner.
