Upgraded from an old PC to a Macbook Pro a few months ago and none of my external hard drives were formatted for Mac. Got this for my MBP to use for Lightroom and some light video editing. Does everything I need it to do at a great speed. Would recommend and would probably buy more of these in the future. 5 |

I love everything about this external hard drive; it's the fourth WD My Passport drive that I have bought. I formatted it for my MacBook Pro and use it with Time Machine. A great little hard drive. It comes with two cables for the different USB ports, which is a plus. It comes formatted in Mac OS Extended, which, while making it Mac specific, makes it easy to partition. I partitioned mine to use 1/4 of the space as a Time Machine, with the rest for file storage. 5 |

I bought this hard drive to consolidate data that was on 3 smaller WD hard drives. It formatted for Mac easily. It's a bit louder than the smaller (3TB) drives but speed is about the same. 5 |

Drive works great so far. I am a photographer and use this drive for my image catalog in Lightroom. I was using a sea gate drive prior to this that crapped out unless then 2 years. The prior drive came formatted for windows and had to be re formatted for Mac. This drive is Mac specific and seems to access data much faster. Glad I chose this product. 5 |
