Mac Mini Internal Microphone Not Working

I bought Mac Mini M1, and you cannot replace its internal SSD. And there was lots of talking going on M1 Mac's shortening its SSD's life with swap memory. So I bought this with Thunderbolt Enclosure to see if I can use this as a main SSD for Mac Mini M1 instead. And it works. It works great! I do not see any difference between internal SSD and this one. In fact, I notice copying files to and from are a lot faster. I don't really feel differences when launching apps or editing photos. I only see differences from copying files. That being said, maybe I could've bought a cheaper, less fast SSD and still be fine with it. But I cannot give a bad review to this baby just because I could've made better purchase. I honestly don't know how it performs as an internal SSD because I'm only using it as external thunderbolt SSD. It's doing very well, so I doubt it'll do terribly as an internal SSD.

The basic 8 Gb RAM / 256 Gb internal SSD M2 Mac mini is wicked fast. Boots up from dead-cold shutdown to fully operational in 10 seconds. Loads Adobe Lightroom and presents the last-selected image ready to further edit in 6 seconds. Adding a portable Samsung 1 Tb external SSD from B&H at today's price cost $79 - far less than Apple's charge for added storage memory. And since it's USB-C connected there is no lag when used as source in editing. Ignore the Youtube pontifications on the base model as compromised for speed and capacity. This thing flies!

Great little machine. Mac mini has always been my go to Mac. I love that we can upgrade the memory again. I would have liked upgradable internal hard drives, however with thunderbolt 3, you can achieve speeds with externals that are comparable to the internal SSD. No GPU, but eGPU make that solvable as well. Best Mac to buy if you don’t need to be portable and have an external display.

We use this microphone attached to a mac mini and high definition Samsung TV with a logitech camera. It works really well. Very easy to setup and has crisp audio.

This is my second Mac mini and so far I love this one as much as my first one.

The best Mac mini ever

This 32GB kit is working great in my Mac Mini 2018. I've had no problems whatsoever. It's much cheaper to go this route than buy a mini with more RAM in it from Apple … even if you pay B&H to do the install. It is possible to install these yourself by following the videos available online (OWC or Youtube), but it is a fairly involved process that includes disconnecting and reconnecting some pretty small connectors in some tight spaces. The process took me about 30 minutes.

I purchased two of these enclosures to run on a 2012 Mac mini. It's working fine on both. They will eventually be used on a Synology DiskStation.
