Mac Pro Internet Speed Test

I have Xfinity and one day I decide to do a speed test, I’m paying for gigabit internet and was barely getting 70 mbps with their provided router. I decided to upgrade and this thing WORKS it was an easy install, a lot smaller than the previous one and handles my internet speed easily no bottlenecks or anything. I have previously bought net gear and ended up coming back I know where my business will always be!

The Netgear CM1000 was a breeze to setup and once registered, I ran an internet speed test to find out that I was now getting the maximum speed for my service. Highly recommend it.

This modem allows me to use my gigabyte Internet to its full capacity with no problem. Speed test shows 965 MB per second Internet speed download.

I use this to backup my photos and company data. 4TB actually only 3TB storage, because its RAID 5. it start up very fast, as soon as my Mac boot up from sleep, its ready. I tested with Black magic disk speed test, both read and write about 500 MB/s, same test on my I-Mac 5K 1TB internal SSD, both read and write about 700MB/s. This drive is 4 times faster than USB 3 and up to 70% speed of my SSD with RAID 5 protection. The drive connect with my Mac through Thunder port 2 then chain to my second monitor. Just a very little noise from the back of the fan, its running as long as my Mac is on. Off when my Mac is sleep. Software is very easy to install, but it takes time to format all the drive to make it ready for RAID 5, about 10 hours. Great product !!

It was a smooth install, I simply did a backup of my cloudkey and did a restore on the dream machine pro and it adopted all my unifi cameras and access points. Installed a few sfp cards and boom I'm up and running a 10g network. I should be good for my internet router for some time to come. Having dual wan support is awesome, if I ever need redundancy for WAN. The updates took a while to do. I opted for the dream machine pro not the dream machines pro se. The big difference was link speed on the WAN ports are 1g or 10g only I got around this with a media converter that auto negotiates with the modem to give me max link speed but links to the dream machine at 10g. My internet speed before I have upgraded my service went from a capped 1gbps service and now pulls down 1.2gbps to 1.6gbps speeds.

Plug and play. With my Mac Pro is fast. Easy to use and speed provides fun to use it in Phtoshop etc.

I did the Blackmagic speed test and I got roughly the advertised speed at ~2600mbps which is about half of the speed that my MacBook Pro internal hard drive gets. That's also about 20 times faster than my old Lacie Rugged external hard drive which felt fast at the time I purchased it!

Upgrading from the old mac pro was the best thing I did for my business. It is so fast and quiet, and B&H delivered it to me in lightning speed. Thank YouB&H!!!!

Bought this to use with a TB3 SSD drive to hook up my Mac Pro. It works great. I now appreciate the speed of the TB connecters. DG

I'm using it on a 2019 Mac Pro. Worked right away, registered with the system full speed, etc. This is the second set of OWC memory, first set came from OWC directly then realized B&H sold it also (my go to place for equipment).
