Macbook Air Displayport Cable

I bought this cable because I was having an intermittent problem with my M1 MacBook Air freezing, showing pink screen, then resetting when connected to an external monitor. I read somewhere that using a DisplayPort cable rather than the HDMI one that I was using would help (perhaps the HDMI cable was causing the problem?). Anyway, the DisplayPort cable works fine and the Freeze/Reset problem has not recurred - so far.

I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket.

I've had no issues with this cable. Plugged it in and works. I use it to plug my Macbook Air laptop into a larger monitor. Having the extra cable length makes things easier and I can distance myself from the monitor if I choose to, or run the cable under the desk with plenty of length. The wire is nice and thin but feels well made. It bends, but does not feel fragile. And the connections seem sturdy and substantial enough to handle a lot of use. I bought this cable to connect my MacBook Air, 15-inch, M2 2023 to an Asus PA248 Display 25.5inch (1920x1200) It works perfectly. Prior to that my old cable was causing the monitor to go on and off randomly. So no need to get a new monitor, it was just the cable that needed to be upgraded. It was easy to find on B&H website and was delivered promptly.
