Macbook Air Dock Station

I purchased the Xcellon Portside Dock to expand the functionality of my 2020 MacBook Air. Disappointingly, the MacBook Air only provides two Thunderbolt 3 ports for peripherals, one of which I usually have connected to the power supply. In addition, the Thunderbolt 3 ports are not compatible with the older USB connectors that I used with my older MacBook Pro, making it impossible for me to connect my MackBook Air to the peripherals I regularly use with USB connectors. The Xcellon Portside Dock allowes me to connect to my MacBook Air using those older USB connectors. In addition to that, the Xcellon Portside Dock has an SD card slot, which I use to download photos to my MacBook Air. In short, I find that the Xcellon Portside Dock makes my MacBook Air a more versatile and functional machine.

This dock adds all the connections I need on my little MacBook Air. Two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and SD Card and microSD Card slots is what that computer was missing, and this provides them all in a simple and easy to use solution. The two USB-C ports are far enough apart that I can provide power through one, and use the other for my 256GB Kingston DataTraveler Max that is too wide to use in the computer when powered. The dock fits snugly in the computer and doesn't stick out too much, and is easy to remove when I don't need it. My only wish was that it had been available in gold to match my computer.

I'm using this dock with a M1 Macbook Air . The machine only have two TB/USB ports, so for using the machine is esencial to be able to connect the things that you ususally need. This dock just work, with the ports that I need. What else can you ask for?

The LaCie 1big Dock is a super device. It provides expansion capability for my MacBook Air which is needed due to only having 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports on the Air. I especially like the Display Port 1.4 output on the 1big Dock. And the addition of the USB port on the front is a big plus. I can connect my USB 3.x devices to the MacBook Air with ease. I don't need enormous storage so the 4tb 1big Dock was enough storage for my needs. I was able to re-format the drive into 2 partitions. One for Time Machine and another for data storage. Very easy to reconfigure the drive in the 1big Dock. I am very happy with the LaCie products I use. I also have a LaCie Rugged USB drive I use to transfer files. I will continue to use LaCie products on my Mac devices. Very happy with the design and functionality of the LaCie products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a MacBook Air a couple of years ago and have been struggling with a way to connect my various peripherals. I have purchased multiple connectors but always have a hard time locating them when needed. This docking station is a great way to add much needed ports to my MacBook all in one convenient location. The sleek look and finish paired well with my MacBook Air and fit neatly in my laptop bag. There is a non-slip grip on the top of the dock which allowed the laptop to stay in place providing an optimal position and angle for typing. On the bottom of the dock there were adhesive strips that could be used to adhere the dock to the laptop if so desired. The dock get hot when fully loaded and offers all of the basic ports one might need (3.5 mm audio headphones/microphone/audio recording, VGA, MicroSD 3.0, SD Card 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45), USB 3.0 (BC1.2)/USB 3.0/USB 2.0, 4K DisplayPort/4K HDMI, 100W PD 3.0 (no data). The wired internet port is a must for a fast and stable internet connection. It doesn’t charge your laptop but it charges your connected devices such as a cellphone or tablet. The one thing I would change would be the length of the connector cord for the USB C. The short cord makes it hard to connect and keep the laptop positioned on the dock. Once in place, the laptop will stay in place. I recommend this product as it provides ample peripheral connections, is durable and provides the quality that is expected from the Belkin name.

Holds my MacBook Air without sway, and with the arms able to slide in at the joints - it can change from a standing station to a desktop station.

Used to connect my 2022 M2 MacBook Air docking station to my LG display. No issues.

You will want this. I've used cheap adapters in the past had nothing but problems with them. This dock station is the way to go
