Macbook Air Gets Hot Near Charging Port

Gets a bit hot when SD attached and charging at the same time but gets the job done.

I need a four port HDMI port and this did exactly what I wanted. Impressive. Gets hot but I don't that a problem as my monitor isn't on 24/7

Update to a review I'd left previously. The charging car mount is a solid piece of equipment -- it feels sturdy and well-built, and I have no concerns about it falling from where it's mounted thanks to the adhesive strip. The 12V charger provides enough power to give my iPhone 12 mini a respectable charge, even when streaming music and navigating with GPS. However, I strongly recommend against mounting it on the dashboard if you live somewhere hot and sunny -- owing to its dark color and metal exterior, this thing gets mighty hot, and your phone will too if it's exposed. Definitely find a spot on the center console, preferably where it can get some air, if that's the case. Once I did that, the mount worked beautifully. No more fiddling with cables or having an air vent blocked by a mount -- this thing does the job.

The multiport hub includes: USB-C, 2x USB-A, SD, microSD, and Ethernet ports. I use a MacBook Air and this laptop lacks the USB-A port. I plugged in the HDMI cable to my monitor and it worked immediately after adjusting a few settings on the mac. I love that I can plug theUSB-C power cord right into the port on the hub and still have available an additional thunderbolt port on the mac. The quality of the hub being stainless steel and heavy duty power cord makes this hub feel like it will last a long time. If you have the new M-1 Macbook Air, this is the hub for you.

My MacBook air only has usb-c ports, so this allows me to use any usb-a peripherals with it. Like thumb drives, hard drives, card readers, a mouse or anything else. It is very helpful and comes in handy frequently. I love the short cable and its flexibility. It is well built and sturdy, and the flexibility has just the right amount of resistance and strength. It does not feel fragile at all, but still can be bent into a position that you'd want. Because my MacBook has 2 usb-c ports right next to each other, this works better than a thick usb-a adapter which would be larger at the connection point and might encroach on the other usb-c port. This does not get in the way of the other port, which is nice. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
