Macbook Charging Portal Hot

Gets a bit hot when SD attached and charging at the same time but gets the job done.

Love this thing and works great with my 14" M1 MacBook Pro. It gets pretty hot sometimes.

Update to a review I'd left previously. The charging car mount is a solid piece of equipment -- it feels sturdy and well-built, and I have no concerns about it falling from where it's mounted thanks to the adhesive strip. The 12V charger provides enough power to give my iPhone 12 mini a respectable charge, even when streaming music and navigating with GPS. However, I strongly recommend against mounting it on the dashboard if you live somewhere hot and sunny -- owing to its dark color and metal exterior, this thing gets mighty hot, and your phone will too if it's exposed. Definitely find a spot on the center console, preferably where it can get some air, if that's the case. Once I did that, the mount worked beautifully. No more fiddling with cables or having an air vent blocked by a mount -- this thing does the job.

I just got this case, it fits well, seems to offer good support, and still thin enough for wireless charging. It gets a bit hot when doing wireless charging, but still works well, and better than when I was using the universal mount on a different Pixel 6 Pro case.

When I'm still using other chargers, my battery won't charge to their maximum capacity and they tend to get hot while charging. With this charger, the battery don't get hot and charges to their maximum level without being overcharge.

This charger got delivered today and I’ve since charged up both batteries, I read since buying this there’s no temperature sensors so it will still charge if the batteries get too hot. But most battery manufacturers say not to charge when batteries are hot, I had it charging both batteries for 2 hours and I regularly checked up on them and they never got hot or even warm. The display is very useful and tells you everything you need to know about each battery, the circular icon when charging means each circle is 25% of the battery capacity. I’ll mainly be using this when travelling which will be great for me, I can charge these using my power bank. It has a very solid built which isn’t what I was expecting for the price point for both the charger and batteries.

Works well in Godox flash, works well in Tascam multichannel recorder. They do seem to get very hot while charging. Make sure you know when you need 1.2v and when you need 1.5v.

System works great except issues with car charging. When first connected it would start and within a second it would stop. Wait 5 seconds and it would start charging again for a fraction of a second it would again stop and repeat over and over. I have the original Wave and when using that charge cord it worked great. Oh wait, that was for about a week and that cord stopped working. I checked the fuse inside the cord and it was fine. Still trying to figure it out. I am a hot shot driver and it works great for me to run my Xbox with a hot spot on my phone for me to play with my son who is back home with his mom. However, the issue with charging doesn’t allow it to run for a week at a time. I can take it in and charge at truck stops during my shower but that isn’t ideal. Hope to be about to get the charging resolved for the cigarette lighter on my truck.

My wife drives a 250 Lexus and I had tried many different mounts for her car. With our hot summers they always fell off very quickly. Ones that mounted in air vents or CD slots wouldn't work. I had avoided the Peak Design models because they were so expensive. Finally in frustration I bit the bullet and purchased the mount and the phone case. It's been installed for a month in summer heat and is working perfectly. The wireless charging is convenient and the cable clips keep the charging cord tidy and out of the way
