I'm a huge fan of these deep white umbrellas. The light is soft and even and in the studio I can use it as my large window light source. Add some diffusion or a curtain in front and it's gorgeous. Make sure you tighten down all hardware when using this umbrella. You'll find that filling the umbrella requires being close to the end of the shaft and that places a lot of weight and stress on the strobe or swivel mount. Whether direct or heavily feathered, the light remains beautifully soft and well controlled with a round catch light. No hot spots or star effects like so many silver umbrellas produce. The umbrella and mechanism are well made and I love the redesign of the latch/unlatch system. No recoil or dangerous amounts of tension being released. Well done! 5 |
