I have been using the Mackie SRM Series Studio monitors in my recording studio and home sound system for years, and did not expect this set to sound as good given the price point. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this set really sounds. If you feed them a quality audio source, they sound great. If you plug them into a cheap sound source, not so much. I like that these have multiple unbalanced and balanced input jacks. Keep in mind that these are near field monitors, so the correct placement on your desktop is necessary to realize the potential sound quality. 5 |

22 years ago an audio rep at B&H helped me build my first recording studio. I didn't know enough then to realize how stellar the recommendations that were made were. In early 2022 I decided to do an entire upgrade to my studio, from computers to software etc. One of the original recommendations for monitors were the original Mackie HR824's. They are used as near field monitors. One of the amps on one monitor blew out. So I found my self on a search. I went through the usual suspects. Almost went for the Yamaha's but at the end of the day, i purchased 2 brand new Mackie HR8242. I can't believe they are even better than the originals. Clean, crisp, and flat, every mix sounds as its supposed to, in the studio, on my beats, in my car, on the phone, and on the web. They really are just spectacular monitors. Well worth the price of admission without a doubt. 5 |

I have had the Presonus Audiobox 44 VSL for since March of 2012, and honestly, I had never really turned it off, because it had no off switch. The Audiobox finally starting going out, so I did research and got this PreSonus Studio 24c, and it has been doing an excellent job so far! I use it with Garage Band and my sons use it to do there music for YouTube. I also produce music using PreSonus and it does not disappoint. All of my music on my youtube page was produced using PreSonus AudioBox, and this Studio 24c is vibing just as good, if not better than the AudioBox. These Mackie speakers are really surprisingly good, especially for the price. They do take more power to drive than the Tannoy Reveal 501A's they replaced, but that's no big deal. It took a little bit of time to find just the right spot and angle for them on my desk, but now I'm treated to nice, deep, tight bass unlike anything I expected. These are rated to 50Hz and I can tell that's not an over exaggeration. The highs are much less sibilant and noisy than the previous Tannoy speakers I had. I listen to a lot of EDM, Rock, and Metal so mids and lows are critical. I do have a small subwoofer which fills out the sound just a little bit, but honestly these don't need it. I compared these to the MRMK3 speakers, and these really improve the clarity and accuracy of the music. I also cross-shopped PreSonus, Sterling Audio, KRK, Focal, Yamaha, and Pioneer. All the brands have their pluses and minuses, so it really comes down to personal preference. For what it's worth, I didn't find the Mackie MR524's to be quite as clear or bright as the PreSonus Eris E5's, but ultimately the lack of mid-bass response from the PreSonus speakers was the deciding factor. The PreSonus would be fantastic if you're primarily listening to classical or vocal music, but for everything else I think Mackie has them beat hands-down for the same price. I drive the Mackie's from my computer via Optical S/PDIF to a Yamaha RX-V1 receiver. I then pass the unbalanced output to a CleanBox Pro for balancing and run XLR to the speakers themselves. I keep volume on all devices around 50-60%. I have no doubt I could blast these to ear-deafening levels but I actually like my neighbors. 5 |

Hard to beat a good ViewSonic monitor. This might be the best value at 1080P 165hz! If it's anything like my past VS monitors, it'll last you 10+ years! 5 |

i had previously skimped on monitors, had $100/pair presonus eris e3.5 that sounded pretty good but only as desktop speakers, not appropriate for mixing at all. these kali's have really changed the game for me. the amount of bass these can put out gives so much presence to them, they get lowwww. fantastic high freq detail and even response, the built in eq definitely helped flatten things since i have them on desktop stands. soundstage is incredible, rivaling my $900 kanto tuk listening speakers with amt tweeters. these are an investment for a starting producer but a worthy one, i know my mixes will be improved from here on out. sometime in the future i hope to get the kali in-5s at whatever their updated version is, but the quality is so good on these i cant imagine how it will get better haha. also the white colorway is just gorgeous 5 |

I have a pair of Presonus Eris e5 XT monitors, which are on a slightly bigger side and these stands work just fine. I use them with the higher riser option and at the steepest angle and they feel stable. Note that some assembly is required, everything comes tightly packaged in a box and you do have to study the manual for a few minutes to understand all the possible configurations and then connect the parts, screw them in place, attach the pads, but you should be done in less than half an hour. 5 |
