Mad Catz Bluetooth Headset With Boom Mic

I was hesitated for this headset for quite a while. It is mostly due to the high price around 90+. B&H had it for $ and I had no second thought and grabbed it. The PC dongle works great as your audio device stay online whether you have the headset set to USB or not. This won't confuse the PC as applications tend to bind it to an audio device and get confused when you disconnect devices. Bind a bluetooth headset to PC and you know what I mean. I use the bluetooth mode for my cell phone only. Switching works flawlessly with a toggle on the headset. The boom mic also falls into one of my strict criteria as I found most of the wireless bluetooth headset without boom mic struggle to deliver clear voice. This one will not let anyone to notice you on wireless. I have it working with all my VOIP app, including my company Cisco VOIP app. 5 |

Bought the headset about a month ago, needed a replacement for my JBL Quantum 200's. Overall the product is top tier, the sound quality is crisp, clean, and (often times) very loud. Pros: - Long battery life (while wireless), in my experience it gets a solid 30-32 hours whilst connected to the included dongle, and right around 43 hours with Bluetooth only. The headset can be connected via Bluetooth AND the dongle at the same time. Note; I do have the RGB function disabled on my headset, which extends the battery life by a *ton*. - Good range on the wireless connection, both Bluetooth and dongle. - Capability to be wired with USB-C (console), or 3.5mm jack going into a headphone/mic splitter (PC) - Amazing mic quality *while connect via wires*. Honestly the mic's balance and quality is on par with some dedicated desk/boom mic's that I've had in the past. - Very comfy fit, I can easily wear them for 5-6 hours straight with no issues. Very little wiggle on my head, even when vigorously shaking or bobbing my head. - Active noise cancelling is so good that it's almost disorienting. Being able to hear most of the environment around you just vanish really is a harrowing and alien experience after never having used it before. The noise cancelling is togglable from a button on the left earphone. There is also a Talk through function, for when you need to hear everything around you or carry on a conversation. - Audio has next to zero delay whilst wireless. I've played quite a few CS:GO and Valorant games, relying almost entirely upon audio cues/footsteps. Not once did I notice any delay that ever affected gameplay. Con(s): - Uhm... Mic quality whilst wireless decreases substantially? Less of a con, more of a side effect to ANY wireless connection. Over all; If I could give this headset a 6/5 stars, I would. It really is one of the most versatile pieces of tech that I own. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the JBL Quantum 910X headset and, wow, what sound! I found that it not only had the great low-end sound when needed but the immersive clarity of the audio was amazing. It’s so sharp that you can have surround sound in a headset. Clean, crisp, and punch when I needed it. The JBL sound! So connecting the headset via Bluetooth was quick and painless. It seemed to snap connect right into place. Connected to the left ear cup was the removeable boom mic, that when lifted, goes into mute mode. When lowered the mic is immediately back on and ready for smack talk with your gaming friends. The box contains USB C and A adaptors, charging cable, a windsock/windscreen for the mic for all the jumping around and moving your head. An audio cable if you’re for whatever reason you lose Bluetooth connectivity. As well as several tutorials and registration guides to help you through setup. I, for one, am very impressed with the sound, feel, and look of this game headset. And by the way the aesthetics of the green illumination on the ear cups looks very cool. 5 |

It works, but it's odd how the volume seems muted from the Rode mic vs using a bluetooth headset or the built in mic on the phone. 5 |

This kit is perfect for our podcasting needs. Everything is included from the Mic/Headset and boom arm! Easy to set up and use. The only thing is the headset can be a little uncomfortable for some users when worn for extended periods of time. 5 |

We use this headset with our Sony digital wireless lav kit. We use it during instruction of Tai Chi and Kung Fu. This requires a lot of body movement while talking. A lapel mic can sometimes pick up noise during movements from clothes etc. this was supposed to be a solution to that problem. Unfortunately the boom for the mic is too short. Putting the mic in an awkward position which sometimes cuts out. For the money maybe I shouldn't complain but results are what matter to me. I may return it and get a version costing around $400 that looks adjustable in boom length. Hopefully that will work. B&H has by the way been a pleasure to work with. 5 |

I use these for location sound two-way com with the boom operator(s). On one channel I send a mix of program and talkback via triplex snake to a headset amp into which these are plugged in. The boom op's headset mic and the boom mic come back to the mixer on the other two channels. These things have been squished in gear bags, fallen off tables, and subjected to a variety of not-so-gentle treatment in the field. I have never had a failure. And the headset sound quality is excellent. The microphone is adequate for IFB use and casual commentary (sportscasting). I don't know if I would use it as the primary mic for doing voiceover work. I would opt for a large-diaphram mic for that purpose. Never had a feedback issue between the mic and the cans. You do however (as with any headphones) need to take measures to keep the sound coming through the cans from being picked up by a sensitive mic inside a sound booth. Refer to a textbook on audio postproduction 101 for that issue. All in all, an excellent mic headset for crew to communicate with mixer, director and each other, whether using a dedicated IFB system or simply mixing program with headset mics and using triplex cables, as I do. Great value too. 5 |
