Magic Bullet Spinning But Not Blending

Got this for backups. But then the Samsung T7 I got was so slow I decided to use that for backups instead. This spinning disk drive is actually faster than the Samsung SSD! It's the most utterly stupid thing Samsung ever did with the T7. The T5 was a solid performer, the T7 a dud that can be lapped by a normal old hard drive! Anyway, this works exceptionally well for a bus powered spinning disk. I keep all my projects saved here when travelling, then I make copies to a disk array when back at home base. My only gripe is that I wish it was USB C.

Works very well even with older tripods you just need to add some double sided tape to keep them from spinning if you twist them. But they will not come off even if you don’t add the tape.

As other reviewers have noted, the drive is extremely quiet for a spinning hard drive. Of course, it's not silent like an SSD. But, a little ambient noise and the whirr of the drive completely disappears. It's also very fast, at least compared to the Seagate Expansion 5tb drive that I had been using before this one. I could transfer a ~150gb folder of photos with 40k items in about ten minutes. The blue light on the front of the drive isn't ideal, but it's bearable. Otherwise, the drive has an extremely sleek look that will complement a modern desk well.

Truly outstanding lens. An obvious use of this lens is for portrait work... and in my judgment, this lens is best when shot wide open (f/2) all the time. Focus on the eyes, and the rest of the image will just be magic: great sharpness for the model, and beautiful background isolation with creamy bokeh for everything else. But it can also this magic to other uses: certain still life shots, or semi-macro type of nature shots. I took some very nice pics of some young mushrooms growing on the forrest floor. Again, the ability to turn what would otherwise be a messy background into a pleasing and smooth background, was excellent... while the subject of my image was razor sharp. Of course, being a lens without optical image stabilization, this lens works best in decent light, but remember that with its f/2 capability, decent light just got a little bit broader in definition. Some report no problem handholding down to 1/120th of a second or so... your mileage may vary. But Fuji's ability to go high on the ISO and still deliver outstanding pictures helps mitigate this a bit. All in all - if you do the sort of photography I've described, then definitely get this lens. For me, the beauty of buying great glass like this is the ability to use the lens for a few months or a few years, and then sell it for most of what you paid for it... almost like renting a lens - but much cheaper. Just keep the box and all the packing material, etc.

This works like magic. I have not figured out how to do audio fully. But it works best with Video camera versus my Canon 60D. Thing is well weighted.

Bought this with the Manfrotto magic arm. Seemed to be as well built (based on photos) as the Manfrotto and half the price. So, I cheaped out on this part :-) But, it works great. Solid, unambiguous grip. Easy to control and mates up with the Manfrotto magic arm. Only minor glitch is I couldn't figure out how to re-store the filler piece. But since I was clamping to flat, it didn't matter.
