Magix Music Maker With Rode Microphone

This paired with my Rode videomic microphone helped make my at-home music recordings perfect!

I've been recording in the music industry for decades. This microphone has the quality of something twice its price. I bought these for podcasting purposes and wanted a quality microphone but for a reasonable budget. It was between the RODE and Sure SM7B which most podcasters use. The Sure was close to double to price and the sound is similar. Also, since the RODE is a condenser, you can boost the output using phantom power. You can't with the Sure, you need a separate booster. Also, it's sounds amazing for recording amps, vocals (really good!), and acoustic guitar. If you do not have the budget for a $1,000.00 microphone, this is a versatile workhorse.

This sounds nicer, more full and rich, than the lav that came with my Rode Video Maker Pro kit. I also like the flat design, as it gives just a tad bit more space between the mic and the talent's shirt. The lapel clip is a different design, because the cord is flat (not round), and works well.

I've long been a fan of Rode since their Film Maker Kit. However, when I previously bought one of their shotgun mics, the battery cage design was so horrible and hard to use that I returned it. I just finished shooting my first wedding with the new Video Mic Pro Plus. The first thing that made me fall in love with it is the 100 hour rechargeable battery. Next were the L.E.D. lights on the back that show if the mic is working and the levels you have it set at for filtering and gain up to 20+. Finally, Rode is paying attention to the users of the equipment. Thanks, Rode for the better engineering design!

I am a young film-maker, and needed a mic for interviews and everyday projects. This Rode shotgun mic fit the bill perfectly, and I'm glad I decided to go with it! There is really only one partial complaint--It tends to perform better outside than indoors. All in all though, if you're looking for an affordable product that lives up to its name, this mic is way to go!
