Major Recording Studios

This is a mic that belongs in major studios across the country. On vocals, it gives a warmth and fullness to the voice that must be heard to be believed. Let any singer try this microphone and they'll be asking for it again, I promise. I'm a vocalist myself and I've tried a lot of different mics over the years, across different budgets. This is the mic I'd choose. As an engineer, I'd use it everyday. It's great on vocals, yes, but it can work for any other application you'd use an LDC for. An added bonus is that it looks great! Classy, vintage, and it stands out from the crowd. If you see this mic anywhere, you'll instantly recognize it. and even though when it comes to mics looks technically don't matter, that's still good product development - something users can immediately recognize. I've not found any flaws. It's pricey, yes, and this isn't a purchase someone should make if they're not serious about making music. But once you try it out you'll see why it costs what it does. It will last forever, and you'll never want to get rid of it!

High quality unit with the ability to really control sound input and recording. Major major step up from the H1. Good build quality. Doesn't take memory cards above 32GB so keep that in mind.

If your budget allows, please do not settle for anything less than the Neumann 102. Over my 12 years of recording in a studios across the world, Neumann mics have provided the best sound overall across a diverse range of vocals. From singers, choirs, rappers, or broadcast, this is a must have! Do not settle if the budget allows.

I'm used to working on Keningston Trackballs in various recording studios, and I really wanted one in my office as well, so I jumped on B&H's recent flash sale on these. It's a really nice upgrade over the logitech marble trackball I was using previously. The ergonomics are night and day, thanks to the wrist rest and the larger size. It's also nice to have the scroll ring, which was absent on the logitech.

You can pay more for a fancy power conditioner or get this. These have been used in recording studios, live concert rigs, and professional sound systems for decades... proven reliability.

I use this in multiple recording studios and it's absolutely fantastic. Zero noise/interference. Excellent layout of outlets. And with coax and ethernet connections as well, it's simply a jack-of-all-trades. A+

I purchased over a dozen of these over the last several years. 3 pairs for myself and the rest for several small recording studios I helped put together. Make sure to replace the pleather pads with Beyerdynamic valour alternatives.
