This is the perfect camera for those who want a high end P&S, but are yet hesitant to go into SLRs.It has a wide varity of features, from fully automatic, to fully manual. I had been owning this for 10 days or so, and had a woderful experience. You need to go thru the manual (which is provded as pdf or available at canon's website), and thats it !!I had been shooting photos with aperture priority, manual focus and shutter priority..and the photos come out excellent. At low light conditions, the automatic mode isnt great..but I did want something which is more than automatic...and when I use manual settings...its perfect in low light as well. Also get the 58mm adapter from lensmate, and you can add polarizers and filters.Overall...I am very very satisfied with the product. Only glitch is that, after I purchased, the price fell some more, so could have waited to get the cheapest ever.... Thanks B&H !!

This camera is very well made, has everything from beginner automatic settings to manual complex settings. Very easy to use

Most of all, I like the TV feauture. I like the fact that there are more manual controls other than automatic, like TV, AE, WB, Flash, ISO, etc. The resulting images are very sharp. The 12x optical zoom works great at close-up...the images look so real! I carry this camera everyday. I don't want to miss any rare oppurtunity to photograp birds, nature and other wildlife. I want to capture any interesting event while on the road. Excellent complement with my DSLRs (Canon's EOS 50D and 5D Mark II).

I have used this camera for weddings, events and landscape photography. I enjoy the flexibility of either manual or the very responsive automatic functions. As I have had the camera for only a couple of weeks, I look forward to getting more familiar the the many options. So far, it has met and exceeded my expectations.

I had falsely read somewhere online that this was a fully automatic lens, it definitely is not, purely manual, but I don't even care. The quality for the price, both the image quality and the build construction and physical quality, are way beyond what I expected. I've bought cheap lenses before and got exactly what I paid for - not here. Image and Video are crisp and clean, focusing is smooth. I knew this was an excellent lens even before I put it on my camera. When I pulled it out of the box and found that it was HEAVY and solid, I wasn't worried about lens elements being out of alignment or imperfect. Other reviews call out noticeable vignetting when using the lens, but so far that hasn't been my experience. Highly Recommend!!!

Due to its characteristics of being manual, unlike automatic ones, this has allowed me to develop my ability to quickly handle the variable parameters that photography includes. I am a little better every day in all aspects. And additionally with so much with the great quality in this piece of glass and finely finished metal. I use the drive as an automatic backup for e-mail, documents, music, and photos and also as a manual backup for specific files. It doubles as a full auto backup. This drive is TINY (smaller than my Samsung S3 phone) and quality is outstanding. The built in backup software is easy to setup and use. The metal case is strong. I wish that the soft pocket bag it comes with was a hard clamshell, but that is eay enough to fix with an inexpensive purchase.

Easy to use on automatic, takes great pictures on manual. Definitely buy a card reader though as you will want to update the firmware immediately for facial recognition.

I love this lens. The automatic lenses that I have purchased in the past have only been a frustration to me. This manual lens is straight forward and so nice to use, and I love the results- so sharp and clear! I am very happy that I bought this lens!!
