Marching Band Low Brass Instruments

Not using for stereo capabilities but rather two cameras, filming marching band focused on different parts of the field. Had previously used different set ups - multiple tripods, go pro attached to single tripod, etc. Although I only used for final show of the year, it performed as hoped and look forward to using next year. No surprises with anything, mounted quickly and fit the equipment as indicated in the specifications, and best of all, quite inexpensive considering the function and the alternatives. Did generate some comments from others in the football stands about how much equipment I was using. 5 |

We are using these to mic marimba and vibes for marching band. They work great and produce great sound. 5 |

I used the intercom system for the first time during a video shoot at a marching band contest. I was concerned my cameraman would not be able to hear the director over the load music, but it was not a problem at all, even with the inexpensive headsets that came with the unit. 5 |

This microphone is amazing and was a huge upgrade from what I had. I am using it to record our high school marching band and the recordings are so accurate and detailed, it’s near perfect. I record on top of press boxes in the open air most of the time where I have to deal with wind and, with the wind muff, it does a great job even without turning on the wind reduction. If there was one thing I wish it did better, it would be in the reproduction of the lower frequencies but that’s getting really picky. I am using this microphone on the Sony ZV-E10. 5 |

I use this to photograph my sons marching band and drum and bugle corps. It allows me to zoom in and photograph individuals. I am very happy with it. 5 |

Picked up the Shape Shifter for a trip I’m taking with a band marching into 2020 Rose Parade. The parade is only one day, but it is really a week long event for the band and a lot of travel, performing, and sightseeing. I wanted something smaller then my rollers, and I have never liked the traditional photo backpacks with the dividers. I packed it up for a dry run and it all fits great. I’m taking two mirrorless cameras, and two lenses (Nikon Z6 with a 24-70mm, and a Sony A9ii with the 100-400mm), and a Profoto A1, 15” MacBook Pro, PlataPod and mini ball head, plus all the other assorted little items (cards, batteries, cables). It all fits and seems well protected. 5 |

Took great Thanksgiving Photos with the Rebel T1i; but the best came at theSouthing California Marching Band Finals in San Diego - great photos, even at dusk. I ecommend the Magic Lantern book for the Canon Rebel T1i for anyone looking to take their photography to te next level. 5 |
