I purchased an OM-D E-M5 Mark III as an upgrade from the Mark II, which I upgraded from a Mark 1, after I switched from a DSLR system. I used the Mark II for four years, really enjoyed it, and got some magnificent shots with it. The Mark III has tremendous upgrades and has resulted in a marked improvement in photographing options and experience. The Mark III has several features which I feel are essential reasons for upgrading: bluetooth connection, which I use with the OI share app, to control the camera from my phone or iPad, so that I no longer need a separate remote trigger; phase detect autofocus, great for birds and wildlife, which adds a whole dimension of photography opportunities; usb charging, which obviates the need to carry a separate charger and cord when traveling. In addition, OI share allows the bluetooth in the camera to be enabled, even when the power is off, so the camera can upload pictures to the phone or iPad even when it is in my backpack. I am thoroughly satisfied with this camera! 5 |

I was going to get the step down from this, but I loved the wood finish. These sound amazing. The Bluetooth connections are great. And the customer service from Audioengine has been a big help...the speakers were making a little hiss with bluetooth enabled. Turns out that you can't keep them right next to your wireless router...too many signals. But that's reality and not worth knocking off a star. Sound quality...wow. Just...wow. I can't imagine anything else in this price range comparing. 5 |
