Mechanical Pencil With The Swirling Eraser

This pencil has so many features! 1. Durable! I have dropped my pencil many times by mistake, and every time it bounces off hard tile floors or concrete, and it has not broken at all. 2. Gestures on the Side. I use the double-tap to switch between pen and eraser 3. Replaceable Tips. A lifesaver. I once dropped it right on the tip, and dented the tip badly. I replaced it, and voila! it worked again. 4. Tilt gestures...the feature you didn't know you needed. The eraser, for example, gets bigger when the Pencil is tilted. 5. Wireless charging, WOW! I love wireless charging. It simply clips onto my iPad Pro, and it's always charged and ready. 6. Future-proofing. The new M2 iPad Pros support Apple Pencil Hover, which is amazing in Procreate....here's the kicker...this 4+ year old pencil supports it!

I tried a different brand os pencil, but it didn't bring some convenient features like the double-tap for the eraser and didn't seem to stay paired very well. While this cost about 3-4x as much as the other, the convenience is worth it me.

Great lead supply for my mechanical pencil. These are very thick and so far, not a single has broken even when I extend a bit. Very happy with these lead refills.

I love this pen. It is easy to grasp and I appreciate that the opposite end of the tip is recognized as an eraser!

First of all, the Twist 60 is amazingly sharp in the dead center shooting wide open at f/2.5 and becomes increasing sharper as it is stopped down. The swirling bokeh effect is great at isolating a subject in the center with vivid movement in the periphery. I'm looking forward to adding this concept to glamour and boudoir shoots. The Lensbaby documentation suggests keeping the Composer Pro straight with the Twist 60, but I'm tempted to tilt it as well. Keep in mind, the swirling effect may not be obvious at first if you're viewing the results of your shots on your camera's 3 inch LCD. When viewed on a full screen/monitor, it's quite pronounced. Also, the fact that Lensbaby products are relatively inexpensive and can deliver this level of sharpness and image quality is astounding. I also own the Sweet 35 and Edge 80 and find them equally of tremendous value for the price. I own many Nikon pro lenses, including the f/2.8 trinity, the f/1.4G's, PC-E lenses, Defocus Control lenses, etc., and find Lensbaby to be a bargain!

This Full Frame lens emulates the swirling bokeh of the 1840's Petzval lens. It works very well and the effect can be quite effective. The effect is most evident when the lens is shot wide open and there is reasonable distance between your subject and the background. Beyond the swirling bokeh, this is a very decent and I would say sharp enough 60mm F2.5 lens. The color is beautiful and richly saturated. The lens does vignette a bit more than a typical modern lens, but that adds to the vintage appeal to this lens. All in all, the lens does provide more of a vintage than modern look to your images. This lens is manual focus only. While the sharpest part of the image is dead-center, I have found that composing and focusing the image how you want generally works out just fine. However, keep in mind that with the swirling bokeh increasingly pronounced closer to the frame edge you will not get edge-to-edge sharpness. Don't let manual focus put you off. Yes, it is difficult to use for fast moving children, etc. but for portraits, floral, still life, etc. it is no problem. Also, I am learning the age-old technique of pre-focusing to capture action shots of children. I am using The Twist 60 on a D700 and in Aperture Priority mode (mostly) and while it does meter, I find most images typically are underexposing by about a stop when using Matrix metering. No problem if you are shooting RAW, not the best if you are shooting JPEG-only. However, you can always use positive Exposure Compensation or simply shoot manual exposure. I don't view this as a negative, but just so others know what to expect. This is a Full Frame, special purpose lens. Don't use this on DX as the swirling bokeh effect really won't be evident in most shots. While I feel the lens is sharp enough for how many people will want to use this lens, if you consider yourself a sharpness freak this lens is probably not for you.

It's not an easy thing to get those beautiful swirling backgrounds but once you get the formula down it is pretty amazing. I had previously purchased the $$ Petzval lens byLomographyand it was next to impossible to swirl the background on a portrait. This works much better at less than the price. And it's pretty sharp wide open, though hard to hit the focus point you want hand held. But when you stop down it is VERY sharp..though you lose the swirling bokeh.

I am a huge fan of the Lensbaby line and love the Twist 60. It's swirling bokeh is beautiful and unique to the cameras of the past.
