Series 6 health features are worth the purchase price alone. Watch does it all including fitness tracking.

Nice watch to track fitness results. Many functions that are easy to use. The GPS works very well and nice downloads of workout to phone. Charge last a long time.

I got this to setup my Merlin steadicam. It is solid! It weighs a ton - and that's a good thing.

It is what it is, works with the Merlin Steadicam, it might be a good idea to get more of these then that come with the steadicam, being how heavy some of the DSLRs can be.

Take the... time to PRACTICE and WATCH ALL THE YOUTUBE videos on how to use, balance and set up this thing. OTHERWISE you will be a frustrated quitter. DONT BE A QUITTER! Just like anything else, there is a learning curve and setup time is necessary (per lens/camera you choose) to use this effectively! But the results are AMAZING! OH YEA... Don't even THINK about using this without the arm brace or the vest. You are not going to be able to use it for ANY length of time because it does KILL your arm/wrist after awhile. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! So just get the arm brace for shorter shots, if you are doing LONGER LENGTH shots, you better think about investing one the support Arm/Vest. The Merlin Stedicam Vest works well (if you buy the adapter bolt that fits Glidecam Stabilizers)You will get amazing shots with practice. The footage is fantastic if used sparingly. Just get it or the Merlin 2. Either way you will be happy with the footage IF you practice and get the Vest or Arm Support rigs too.

Book is basically a Bible of East Coast birds. I use Merlin Sound ID app, binos and notepad in the field, then cross reference my attempted ID's with Sibley's book. Has good illustrations and organized in easy to use manner. Only complaint is print is on the small size.

I was looking for a stabilization system for a Canon 5D DSLR with a zoom lens and a microphone. I started with a Steadicam Merlin, but that option failed miserably. The Merlin is beautiful, light and well designed... but almost impossible to get adjusted. The manual says it will take 8 hours to set up! Then, say with a zoom lens, you change your focal length and you need to readjust. It's just way too finicky for a DSLR so I ordered the Glidecam HD2000 after seeing how it was used on the documentary To He!! and Back Again. So far I love it. It's bigger than the Merlin, but so much easier to set up. I was flying shots within about a half hour. It's rugged, well designed and gets the job done. Do yourself a favor and buy a quick release plate. Then you're be swapping between the Glidecam HD2000 and a tripod in seconds. Although, I do wish Glidecam offered a fitted case. The weight is another issue. I'll need to work out a bit before I can operate this with only my arm. I already have the vest in my wish list which will make this a fantastic stabilizing system I can use all day.
