Metabones Blackmagic Studio Camera

The Metabones speed booster is a game changer for the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera.

I ordered this lens to use with my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera and a Metabones Speed Booster. Although I'm yet to use the package in real life shooting situations, I did some extensive tests and the results were amazing. I confirm that this is probably one of the best zoom lenses for that particular camera. It performs specially well in low light conditions because of the lens high aperture and the extra f boost by the speed booster. The lens is big and heavy though and I would prefer a wider range on the focus ring to control focus. Also, for this particular combo, you will probably need some other lens to go really wide and something else to go closer. It's really a medium range zoom in that particular configuration.

Awesome companion for the Blackmagic Design 6k Studio camera!!!

I am using the metabones canon fd speedbooster on a blackmagic pocket 4k. I had been using a dummy/cheap adapter that didn't give the the ability to adjust the aperture and also put at 50mm lens at a 100mm range. The metabones speed booster has allowed me to get a much better field of view and has given me full control over aperture. I have used it in interviews and for documentary work. No issues at all. Putting it together with a canon fd lens gives a very film like look when graded in resolve and whwn attached to a poxket 4k camera. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I finally ordered the Metabones Speed Booster as well as the Sigma 18-35mm lens for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. I'm very satisfied so far. The Speed Booster works as advertised. It is very well built. There is a ring to control lens aperture. Also you can mount your tripod adapter so that the camera does not have to support the weight of heavy lenses. Optical quality is excellent.

Bought this lens for use on a new Blackmagic studio camera. Image quality is terrific and zoom range is perfect for our studio use. I use it on a tripod within 12-16 feet from talent with excellent results. Very please with the product. It was a tough decision but one I do not regret. In fact I have just ordered a second one for camera 2.

I'm using this case to store and transport a Blackmagic Studio camera with lens and accessories. Typical pluck foam is great for a snug fit. I got the 1560 because I intend on getting another BM Studio camera and there is plenty of room to safely store both. My favorite thing about the 1500 series, you ask? It's the last in line with 2 latches. Once you hit the 1600s they start throwing latches all over the lid. That may be necessary if you're going into combat or something, but the simple 2 latch lid has a tight fit and is completely satisfactory. If there was one thing I'd like to see added is either a tripod clamp, or an accessory to store a tripod on the exterior of the case.
