Metabones Speedbooster Blackmagic Pocket Camera

I am using the metabones canon fd speedbooster on a blackmagic pocket 4k. I had been using a dummy/cheap adapter that didn't give the the ability to adjust the aperture and also put at 50mm lens at a 100mm range. The metabones speed booster has allowed me to get a much better field of view and has given me full control over aperture. I have used it in interviews and for documentary work. No issues at all. Putting it together with a canon fd lens gives a very film like look when graded in resolve and whwn attached to a poxket 4k camera. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The Metabones speed booster is a game changer for the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera.

I ordered this lens to use with my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera and a Metabones Speed Booster. Although I'm yet to use the package in real life shooting situations, I did some extensive tests and the results were amazing. I confirm that this is probably one of the best zoom lenses for that particular camera. It performs specially well in low light conditions because of the lens high aperture and the extra f boost by the speed booster. The lens is big and heavy though and I would prefer a wider range on the focus ring to control focus. Also, for this particular combo, you will probably need some other lens to go really wide and something else to go closer. It's really a medium range zoom in that particular configuration.

This is a great Speedbooster. The Perfect alternative to the Metabones version.

As far as I can tell, the optics are nearly the same as my Metabones Speedbooster of the same Micro 4/3 to EF. So far so good!

This camera is amazing, especially when paired with a Metabones speedbooster and EF lenses. I am a freelance journalist and use this for video journalism purposes, including at actions at protests and outdoor events, and the small profile makes this camera less intimidating to people, even when attached to a rig and some accessories. Before buying this, I'd considered Sony's lineup, like the a7 III, which was a comparable price, as well as Canon's R series. I can't say how the GH5 II stacks up in comparison, but for my purposes, this has worked very well. One tradeoff is that it's not great in low light, but having and small external light (attached to the camera cage even) addresses that. At this price tradeoff seems to often be low light performance, better in full-frame and Sony's cameras, vs stabilization, and the the in-body stabilization allows for a great handheld feel without footage being to jittery. As is commonly noted, the autofocus also isn't that reliable, but I enjoy manual focus anyway. That's something to consider, depending on what you're up to, because manual focus pretty much requires a rig with a handle and a monitor, but the profile of the whole setup is still decently small. I believe that soon-to-be-released GH 7 will be much better in this realm, as I think the GH 6 was, but I came from a Canon EOS camera, so I was able to use all my EF lenses once I got the Metabones .71x speedbooster and the image quality is amazing, for this budget.

Combined with the GH5 & Metabones Speedbooster Ultra, I rarely take this off my camera. The GH5 allows you to punch in, in-camera, so you really have a wide range of focal lengths to play with before even deciding to hot swap to another lens. I own a 12-100mm Olympus, and that barely gets any play. But it's good to have options. Every shoot has its needs.

amazing camera with clean iQ and incredible codecs to choose from. With a metabones speedbooster this thing can see in the dark.

Using this lens on a gh4 with a .64xl Metabones speedbooster. Great images from a tight lens.
