I was surprised to find out that this instrument is all-metal except for the suction cups. I was expecting plastic for most of the instrument. It is more robust than I expected and I have test-used it inside and outside the car. No worry about tne Fat-Gecko loosing its grip.It is better than all other contraptions and should have bought it earlier.Thank you B&H ... 5 |

The width of the bar is about 15 long, and every part of it is metal construction except for all the knobs. The knobs are plastic, but it feels like a relatively high quality plastic. It has a removable and reversible female spigot inside to mount on a stand. One suggestion: If you plan to buy this for use with 2 speedlites, as I did, I suggest you get the version with 4 shoes, because it'd be nice to have something to mount your pocketwizards on, instead of dangling or taping. Just a thought I realized after the purchase. 5 |

I've used just about every XLR connector out there and these are the best bar none; yes, better than Neutrik. Only two pieces, very solid grounding of the shell, and a tight grip on the cable. You can hand tighten the shell, but the all metal shell also has wrench flats so you can get it really tight. The Switchcraft green insulator takes a lot of heat without melting. I have never had a problem with these mating with any other brand connector, or any microphone. They are heavier than most XLRs, but that's because of the all metal shell. Can't beat the price. 5 |
