This is both well made and carefully packed for shipping. The gauge of the metal both for the case and the single supplied shelf is quite heavy. Aside from inserting the shelf and the two foam liners, there's no assembly required. I figured this size was more than I needed but it filled up quickly with my stock on hand to the point that if I purchase more, and I will, I'll need another cabinet. I recommend carefully considering the dimensions too. I have no very long lenses but used to and some of them would not have fit. I think this type of cabinet is analogous to lenses - you can't have too many and in cabinets - you can't have too large. I've had this now a few weeks. So far it's been just what I had hoped: silent running and despite a few days of high humidity, it maintains its promised 40 or lower.

This is my first dry cabinet. I have always been reluctant to buy one because of the price, but after considering the value of the gear that I would be putting in the cabinet I decided to give it a go. I love the build quality of the cabinet, the front doors are glass and the rest of the cabinet is metal with the exception of the shelves and those are plastic. I wish those were metal as well but the plastic seems to be sturdy enough. Each shelf has a foam pad for it so I don’t have to worry about scuffing my gear on bare metal/plastic shelf. I live in Florida where it is almost always hot and humid and even indoors the humidity will reach 65% in the summer. Currently indoor humidity is around 55%. Included in the box for the dry cabinet is a list of recommended humidity settings for different kinds of gear. Based on the provided list and some research online I decided to set my dry cabinet at 42% humidity. To get from 55% to 42% humidity it takes about 4 hours. Once it reaches 42% it shuts off (its hard to tell when it is running since it is completely silent) and it doesn’t turn back on until the humidity hits 44%. Something I found surprising is that the humidity setting can be adjusted in 1% increments. Something I didn’t think about when buying this cabinet is that it does have two doors and two separate climate zones (top and bottom). The nice thing about that is I can open one of the doors and not effect the humidity in the other compartment. That is very nice since opening a door almost immediately makes the humidity level rise to the same as the room that it is in. The other nice thing is if you are trying to store different kinds of items in the cabinet you can set the humidity of the two compartments separately from one another. I would recommend a dry cabinet to anyone that lives in a humid climate.

I'm grateful I decided to order the 600L dry cabinet. For my needs, anything less would not have sufficed. The cabinet arrived very(!) well protected and in excellent condition. Once emancipated from the multiple layers of crate and packing materials, the cabinet proved to be easy to maneuver thanks to its robust locking casters. Once in place, the rest of the setup was simple. So far, it seems to be maintaining my desired RH level quite easily. I currently reside in the American south (cue banjo music) where humidity is an issue during the warmer months; fortunately, the Ruggard Dry Cabinet is more than up to the task of keeping my photography equipment safe & dry. And it looks pretty good too! My only wish (and other reviewers have noted this as well) is for a metal option for the shelf brackets. So far the supplied plastic brackets seem fine, but I can't help but worry. If I can find metal replacements, I will definitely upgrade. Admittedly, I don't know of anyone who had experienced a failure of the plastic brackets. So I might be worrying needlessly. Still, given the expense and rarity of some of my lenses, metal brackets would be reassuring. Other than that, the cabinet works and looks great.

It works. It's perfect for smogging up a medium to large room for filing purposes and if you're into techno or whatever.

Used EGW mount for Novak dovetail, slight filing required to fit X9. Burris FF fit perfectly on EGW mount. Sighted in within 12 rounds and proceeded to shoot tighter groups than I ever have experienced with iron sights.

Perfect for filing loose papers that are in-process in a single place. Can keep receipts in one envelope, notes in another, news articles in yet another, and so on. My only wish is that they were expandable so they can hold more papers.
