... and other loud environments! I monitor my drums while recording through these. They cut outside sound so well that I can hear the click-track without cranking the volume to absurd levels. I use them just for hearing safety without any audio playing through them while practicing also! On the street for boom mic handling, for mixing a live recording in a noisy club, or anytime you need great sound with maximum isolation these ROCK! The frequency response is pretty accurate - not as pleasing to listen to (sweet sounding) for extended sessions as, say a nice set of open-backs. If you need to monitor these are exactly what you need... If you listen for pleasure in quiet environments you should check out Senn's open-backs also.

I use this in my home studio for recording. Has a lot of bells and whistles if you need them. Mostly, I just use it to manually tap out the drums and percussion while recording but it is certainly capable of much, much more. I love the variety of sampled drum kits and the recorded sound is indeed authentic. I doubt most people would guess it's not performed by a real drummer.

I purchased 5 of these to mic drums for recording into Garageband. I am completely satisfied and plan to order more. ThePDMIC78 has crisper highs than a Shure SM57 and cost about 1/10th the price. I will never spend the money on a Shure again. My drummer friend is replacing his Samson microphones with these.

Had an amazing recording session last weekend and tracked drums - these pres sound great and totally delivered - the output to my monitors is clean and punchy sounds way better than my 1824c PreSonus (Tascam FTW here) Zero regrets the best gear purchase in a long while.. Plus B&H rocks of course big love to your peoples!! xo

This kit gives you all the essentials you need to start recording your drums at home. The clarity of the mics are super high quality and especially the kick drum mic. These are industry standards for a reason!

I have been doing sound for a few years now and I'm always looking for the next best thing and now i think i found it. I use the NT5 for field recording indoors for independent films and for live sound recording on drums and left and right of the room its great. Rode mic i love because they are so natural sounding. they give the best balance of highs mids and lows
