Micro Usb Cable Auto Shut Off

Auto shut off is a huge plus to this item.

Auto On/Off works. USB mic as well as normal and great internal boost. Clean and clear.

Works well, I got this so I could shut down my last desktop machine but still have access to the data. I will need a USB-C cable for it and with that odd connector on the other end you have to be careful what one you order, it only comes with USB-A. Fan top is only held on by a magnet so it's easy to take off but that also means you can pick the thing up by the top. Be carful to check the alignment before inserting the drives.

Needed this for charging from a micro-USB cable. Works great for that.

Front or back focusing is a real thing (Whether it's small or big). Even on first party lenses. Which is why Canon includes micro-focus adjustments in camera on some of their higher end models. If you own any of the newer Sigma lenses (Art, Cotnemporary, Sports) line. It's highly recommened to get the USB dock for auto focus fine tuning. Depending on body/lens combination some of the auto-focus fine tuning might be able to be done in-camera. However the USB dock provides even more precision for setting correct auto focus at different distances and focal lengths. It can be time consuming at first... though at least you know you have the option of really dialing in the micro focus adjustments. Initially it might be a bit daunting for someone who's never had to micro-focus adjust their lenses. Though it's a common practice with most lenses now a days. There are dozens of tutorials and videos for first time users having to deal with micro focus adjustments. Don't be discuraged if your lens front or back focuses. Chances are the USB dock will correct the issue. Just take the proper time to understand the process.

I have another review that I wrote about this mic, but B&H's website doesn't appear to let me update that review. I've now been using this mic almost daily for over a year. The audio is crisp and clear, background noise is kept to a minimum, and people on the other end of the meeting/phone call give compliments on the detail that this mic captures. I used to use a condenser mic, but that also had the annoying feature of picking up a lot of 60Hz hum. This mic doesn't do that and I didn't have to make any adjustments to the room either. For the person who mentioned they couldn't fit it in a shockmount, it has one internally. That is why the mic is the size that it is. For those complaining about the USB port, mine hasn't had any issues. I accidentally bent the micro usb connector on the cheap cable they shipped with it and the mic survived just fine. The cable, on the other hand, was useless after that. I solved this problem by finding a 90 degree USB adapter so that the connector isn't pointing straight out the back of the mic. It now sits mostly flush and swiveling the mic is more likely to cause the adapter to disconnect at the other end. If your laptop, like mine, is usb-c only, don't try to buy long usb-c to usb-c cables. They are crazy expensive. Instead, try to buy a usb-c to mini or micro usb-b cable. They are much cheaper. My setup is usb-c to micro usb (10 feet), then an adapter from micro-usb to usb-c (1 inch), and then finally a short usb-c to 90 degree micro-usb adapter (6 inches).

The cable is well made, not flimsy. The USB & micro USB plugs plugged in smoothly with no struggle. Recommended.

By far the best and most reliable USB to Micro-B cable I've found. Frustration takes a back seat to quality.

Love the surprisingly soft beautiful effect with the Micro. Off camera with the SB800 gives me more options and flexiblity of how and where I shoot. It folds up small and is light weight. Another plus is the larger catchlight.
