I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

This is a fabulous microphone. I've used it on nylon string and vocals. Very nice! Records exactly what you hear. Warm and sweet. The threads on the shockmount where it screws onto a mic stand, however, are very sloppy . Feels like low quality production.

One of the best (some would say the best...) microphone in the business, particularly for vocals and lower sound level instruments (acoustic guitar, flute, etc...). Extremely sensitive, very low noise. Picks up the tiniest detail. The switchable polar pattern, integrated low cut filter and 10 dB attenuation pad means you can use them for anything in any situation, couple of switches and you are done. Just did a simultaneous recording with my Schoeps on a flute and these sounded even better, if that was at all possible. More velvet and refinment in the mid tones. You could immediately tell why they are unsurpassed on voice. If you can afford it and don't mind how large they are, this is the quintessential studio mic you need in your arsenal.

This microphone records voice and instruments with clarity. Was advised that the USB connection makes it have less static than other connections, and we were happy with the results! The table top tripod is a great addition.

Whether you're looking to record yourself playing instruments, singing, or podcasts, the Yeti offers the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to USB microphones. Using the microphone couldn't be more simple; just plug in the USB cable, open recording software of your choice, and in minutes you'll be recording some surprisingly clear and crisp audio. On the topic of audio quality, one must mention the top-notch audio recording capabilities of the microphone. The Yeti uses a three-capsule design which allow for a wide array of recording patterns. The audio comes out well-balanced, picks up bass well, and produces most frequencies with excellent clarity. With that said, do not expect it to be able to record CD quality audio, but for a USB mic, it sure has just about every other beat. The only con I can really think of is the Yeti's size, which might make it difficult to transport. With that said, the Yeti is very well built and features a rugged metal body and stand.

We now have four Audio-Technica Pro 37's. They are used in a house of worship setting for instruments, two on the piano and two that rotate picking up the bell choir and occasionally micing other instruments such as guitars and cellos. On occasion they have even been used for voice. We find the Pro 37 to be a versatile condenser microphone that has never let us down. I really can't find anything negative to report. Over all a great small microphone to have in your stable.

This a VERY good microphone especially for the price. It provides clear accurate sound of acoustical instruments. Being able to change the directional pattern is a great plus. It allows me to pickup just the instrument or the instrument and room reverberations when recording. The violin and viola musicians I have recorded love the sound this microphone produces (so far those are the only instruments I have recorded with it). It would be nice to be able to change the pattern of the mic without having to change the tip but is is not a big deal to switch tips. For the price this is a great microphone it compares very favorably with mics costing 2 to 3 times the price.

Very open, clear and accurate microphone. Sounds really beautiful and well balanced. It's good for both instruments and vocals from classical to pop music. The quality of this microphone is exceptional and it's definitely worth than the price. I am now mainly using this microphone along with Neumann and DPA microphones. I highly recommend this modernized amazing cardioid condenser microphone to all musicians.
