Microphone Stand Recording

I use this product with an ambisonic microphone for location recording. The first day I used it, I was recording an interview with a couple of musicians and had the mic stand sitting on a desk in the corner of the room, with the boom suspended over the musicians' heads. Quite unexpectedly, one of the interviewees decided to play an example on his stereo, which was on the same table - suddenly, his big studio monitors were playing this extremely bass-heavy, percussive MIDI mock-up, and the table was rumbling and rattling, with my poor mic stand on it. Later, in editing, I was very pleased to hear that none of that bass rumbling made it to the microphone at all, thanks to this tidy little mic mount. Good stuff! 5 |

I'm only a beginner when it comes to studio video recording, and am using it for marketing and business videos. I've been looking all over for a good boom mic stand that would allow me to raise a shotgun condenser microphone overhead and out of shot. This one works perfectly. This stand is sturdy. It seems like it could handle quite a bit of weight. Of course I didn't swing on it or anything to see what the max was, but it holds my microphone great, and that's all that mattered to me. I would recommend this stand. 5 |

Excellent microphone for very reasonable price. I have spent a lot of time in the Community Access TV and have had experience with a lot of so called pro-sumer microphones that often cost more and produce less quality recordings. If you don't know how to use the gain control, or change the recording patterns you can get a lot of background noise. But both of these controls are easy to set and use. Only cons are that cheap looking plastic volume knob on the front (volume control), the mic has a nice metal housing, is it really going to break the bank to use a matching metal knob, at least on the front? This is a really big microphone, as long are you realize that its going to stand 12 inches tall on your desk its not a negative, but don't expect to hand hold it, or put it on a flimsy stand. As a side note they do have a new model coming out the Yeti Pro which will also include an XLR out among other features which may be of additional use for recording professionals. 5 |

Good microphone set for recording guitar and voice. The AT2020 is a little on the heavy side so, if you use a boom microphone stand, be sure it's a good quality stand that can support it. 5 |

I needed a microphone for basic recording in my studio. I found this mic stand to be perfect. Balancing out a nice range of height and sturdiness, not to mention cheap! Recommended. 5 |

I was recording speeches by tying a lapel mic to the microphone on a mic stand until I found this great product. This one work as a combiner as well!! 5 |

Setup was very easy for this microphone. It is a simple plug & play use. I tested it with garageband on a mac computer and audacity on a windows computer. Both worked seamlessly. The audio recording quality was better than I expected for paying this price on a microphone. Vocal recording is very nice (singing/podcast type applications). Acoustic guitar recording sounded great. Acoustic guitar was about 8 feet away from the mic when testing it out. I imagine fine tuning my recording process will only make it sound better. I used the mic to record a band practice session. I just placed the mic in the center of the room and played around it. The mic worked surprisingly well to pick up the instruments (recorded in garageband). Obviously this technique is not going to sound amazing but it is better than I have recorded other times with a TASCAM device or other microphone into a computer. The overload led light is nice to visually show you when the microphone input volume is set too high. I have been typically running at 20-30% when testing up-close vocals. So it shows there is an input range to work with. The microphone base stand is a nice simplistic setup. It does limit the positioning of the microphone on there but I believe this is what is intended. The stand will not allow for a horizontal positioning of the mic. Since I do not need the feature and do not think the stand was intended to do that, I did not take away from the rating. I recommend this microphone for anyone looking to have a usb microphone as a step above the bottom line microphones but do not want to spend money in the $100-$150 range. I imagine it would compete with those in terms of audio quality. If you wanted anything better than this, I would say to think about spending over $150. 5 |

I use this for a microphone stand for field recording, and for lights and reflectors. It is the most compact stand I could find and extends to 8'. It is beautifully made and works perfectly. 5 |

I use this stand for my microphone when doing location recording. Light stands are better than mic stands, in my opinion - this one gets quite tall while maintaining a low profile and weighing less than a typical mic stand. It has a wide spread at the bottom, so it's quite stable, and the locking mechanisms for the telescoping sections seems well made and durable. I love it more than I've ever loved a mic stand! 5 |

I purchased this stand because I needed more flexibility for positioning my microphone for recording my podcast. It works great. 5 |
