I have a Shure MV7 and although is a fine microphone. The Revelator Dynamic USB Microphone shows an amazing sound out of the box. I 100% recommend it for the price. 5 |

I have a Shure 55SH and it is not known for being a very sensitive microphone. It looks great on my desk but was not getting used much since I had to crank the mixer gain up adding a lot of noise. I have the Mackie Big Knob studio (love it!) and it has 48 volts out (phantom power) so it was easy to plug it in the back inline with the XLR mic cable. So now I have a lot more volume and a lot less noise. 5 |

After much deliberation in which hand-held microphone to purchase, I eventually settled on the Shure SM63L. Intending to use the microphone in a crowded convention setting, the lack of initial reviews had me a little nervous. I'm happy to report that any doubt was unfounded. While it wasn't used in the very crowded show floor, it was used in slightly less crowded areas and preformed very well. As an Omni microphone, you were able to hear background noise, but the subject speaking was very distinct from other noise. In interviews, the microphone preformed well again, giving good audio when held between subjects. Some volume loss was experienced (and expected) if the microphone wasn't pointed at, or held evenly between subjects. Due to budget and time circumstances, I intended to use this microphone on an XLR splitter with another microphone which required phantom power. Unable to contact Shure before the event, I did not end up utilizing this setup, opting instead to use the mics separately. In speaking with a Shure representative after the event, they assured me this microphone would NOT be damaged by phantom power (Note: Confirm with Shure before attempting). I feel the microphone could use slightly better bass sensitivity, but if the trade-off was less handheld noise (to which this microphone seems very good at preventing) I'm willing to live with that. I'd very highly recommend this microphone for interview and reporting style work and even light/quick voice-over work. Looking forward to using this microphone more in the future. 5 |

I bought this for a shure SM89 shootgun microphone. But was pleased to find out that with the purchase of the number 2 extenison I can also use it with my Neumann kmr 82i and Sennheiser MKH-70. So it is very versatile. The noise is virtually eliminated with this. I use it in the studio with out the fur and outside in windy conditions with it. The shock system is this really reduces the handling noise to next to nothing. One note to new people. It twists on and off. So when it arrives you just twist off the ends and it opens up. 5 |

The Shure SM7B is an awesome XLR mic with that unique podcast or radio talk show sound. There's a reason that this is so. If you take the wind muff off (it comes with a second, bigger one also), you'll see a cage over the mic element. This cage keeps the user from talking or singing too close to the mic's front element, which eliminates plosives which is the distortion that comes from the wind coming out of your mouth as you speak aP or sing loudly. This mic is capable of handling very loud sounds from your voice without breaking up or distorting. I have my SM7B connected to a Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 and a Cloudlifter. The Focusrite is strong enough to drive it alone. I opted to use a Cloudlifter because it drastically reduced the need for too much gain and subsequently lowered the noise floor. My gain went from 2 o'clock w/o the Cloudlifter to 10 o'clock with it. If your interface is low noise at higher levels, the Cloudlifter isn't 100% necessary. I also bought an extender arm since the mic has a fixed XLR mount that will likely get in the way when rotating it on an arm (see photo). The SM7B is also great at isolating handling noise and background noise. You can touch it and move it around without hearing any noise in your recording. Overall, great sound and definitely a pro mic and is priced like one. If you don't need a mic that is perfect or is engineered for handling loud talking/singing with no distortion, get a USB mic for 1/4 the price. You can get a really good sound from USB mics as well, they just have a tiny cable that can come out easily but in a fixed setting, it shouldn't be a problem really. Just remember that you can only have one USB mic live at a time on your computer. So if you need multiple mics, I recommend an XLR mount mic or you'll need a mixer. The Shure SM58 is also legendary (more of a stage mic) and costs only $100. I plan to keep my SM7B forever so I don't mind the price. 5 |

The directional microphone and noise suppression software work great. Cars drive by, my dog barks and nobody in my conference can hear it. With the conferencing software adding backgrounds, the mike can be right up to my face on my webcam and nobody online can see it. Sound quality is excellent. The packaged boom arm works but could be better. The boom arm itself looks great and I may have to play with the multiple tension adjustments to make it work better. 5 |

The best USB microphone I've ever used. Paired with their software NVIDIA broadcast. It's 10/10. Amazing sound quality and very clean overall. I only wish it didn't have the logo on it from both sides, but that's easily fixable. Overall, for anyone looking at USB mics. This one definitely should be on your list! 5 |
