Microsoft Update Bricks Laptop

This new style update for the Seagate Expansion type drives has better airflow than the WD Elements drives. In fact you can see the actual hard drive inside. It is also a little quieter than WD Elements although the amount of vibration is the same. There is a small white LED dot at the top back of the drive. So if you have this on a shelf you may not notice the blinking light. The power brick is about same size as the WD (narrower than a soda can), although I have had WD drives with the P shaped bricks as well as the more convenient sideways bricks. But the Seagate is the P shape. They also give you every power adapter under the sun. You can take this drive literally anywhere in the world and plug it in and it will work. Not my concern but good to know if you travel with your 3.5 drives... Speedwise, I would say this drive is faster than WD Elements, at the beginning of the drive. I was getting 112MB/s over a Gigabit Ethernet connection on this drive initially. As the drive fills up I expect that speed to fall. When copying large videos from a NVME drive, this drive maxed out at 182MB/s.

I use this to make system images on Win 7 Pro... before I do windows update (just to be safe, because, you know, microsoft).  Priced right and works for me.  Generally takes two of these to make a system image of my C: drive with 115 GB on it.  Good safety net.

I have used several types of laptop computers, but Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is more than I expected :)

I do really like this power brick because now I can charge my laptop and power some other devices alongside it. I think that Apple should make multiple port bricks in higher wattages too. This would allow more than one higher powered device to charge at a time. Some places like schools have few plugs, so the fewer the bricks the better.

3 foot extension cord works great w/ laptop power bricks, etc. So great buying another one. Plus the orange colour stands out among dark hotel carpets of guest rooms, meeting/conference halls, etc so it is impossible to leave behind.

I switched from a Microsoft laptop to the Ipad pro. The touch screen is to navigate , very fast operating system. Battery life is amazing, I go days without charging. The camera images are incredible, four speakers sound is good. i would recommend a screen saver and padded case to protect your investment. Great choice

I bought my laptop with B&H and Microsoft Office 365 pop-up with a discount and I didn't hesitate to add it to my cart.

As I become familiar with these, I now own two, I look at a year old uber powerful laptop an see nothing but limitations to the laptop form factor. Microsoft nailed usability with the Surface. If you have not yet experienced 30gb M.2 buss this will open your eyes on what is in store for the future. When my wife turned it on all she could say was, WOW. Yes, there are some limitations. The port is USB-C 10gb not thunderbolt. The screen is not 4K. But I am not editing video on this tiny computer, I do that on a gaming style workstation with monster color corrected monitors. but for the other 90% of the things I do on a computer, including watching Amazon Prime in bed, this is PERFECT.

I've been using the Microsoft Laptop since version 1 and it has consistently been an amazing piece of hardware! I was so glad to get the Microsoft Laptop 4 - it has great performace, lightweight, and is fast! Boot is super quick! Highly recommended for work or school.

They appear to be well made. I use them with lead bricks and they do a good job.
