Middle Shot Film

Haven't shot it a lot, but what I have has confirmed that it's a keeper.. Plenty high rez at middle F-stops, and excellent center and middles even at F4, all on my X-T4.. Here's hoping it'll look just as good with 40MP.

Important note in using this film... to take a picture you need to line up the dot in the middle of the red window. I was scared of the film so it was hard for me to load it and know when to take a picture and when to wind. I love that it has clever little motivational statements in the window before you get to the film. Another great aspect of lomography, creativity and artistic value are brought back to photos! I am still waiting for my photos to return from the lab, I tried to keep the film in low light as much as possible so we'll see if I did a good enough job.

Buy this if you are a videographer. You can work during the middle of the day and you would not know it. Since we are outdoor adventurous, we film animals at first/last light and do all our filler videos during the day with these.

Lovely, middle of the road film. Develops beautifully in rodinal, with predictable results. Can't see a reason why to spend more on bigger other brands, especially in this format. The higher iso variants, or in the 120 format, haven't worked for me that well, but this one is my go-to 4x5 film.

It's not just cheap, it's an amazing looking film stock. It's neither Ektar nor Portra, but it's somewhere in the middle between the two, and reliably so. Perfect for summertime street photography. Make sure you meter correctly, because it doesn't handle overexposure as well as other Kodak films, but the results are so choice they border on primo. Unless I was doing a serious gig for a serious client paying serious bucks, I'd grab five rolls of ProImage100 over 2-and-half Portra160s any day. Geez, I wish it came in 400 though.

Trying to do film production in the middle of a pandemic is a challenge, to say the least. Which means downscaling crew and equipment. However, using these cables for my iPhone, hooked up with the Rode SC6-L adapter I can use professional grade wireless mics to record audio flawlessly!

The last time I was in a darkroom developing my own film was over 20 years ago in middle school. Having recently rediscovered film photography, I wanted to give home development a try as well, but was a bit intimidated given the length of time since my last foray into the darkroom. This kit made home development a breeze! Developed two rolls of Tmax400 in 6 mins (3 mins longer than other films due to the T grain), and the shots came out great! I did add a little Photo Flow at the end to help with spotting. Really enjoyed using this monobath and can't wait to try it again.

The grain on this film is somewhere right smack dab in the middle of the spectrum. Not super fine, yet not super chunky. The contrast is fantastic, with bright whites and deep blacks. When used in a Nikon F with a very small on camera flash, this film absolutely exceeded my expectations in terms of sharpness and quality. Great job Ilford!

Just picked this up form my Middle School film class. Awesome quality for a small price. Hopefully this one doesn't go swimming like our last mic.

I bought this film kinda on a whim after really liking Flic Film Elektra and how they handled their packaging. I needed something for varied lighting that wasn't CIneStill 800t as I didn't want the hallation, and I gotta admit I find Portra 800 just a little boring (though reliable to keep around) Its still not known at this time where Aurora 800 comes from, as opposed to some others from Flic Film, but I gotta say I kinda love it. This whole roll was shot pushed to 1600, and everything came out beautifully. There was so much latitude in it that I could do some edits to pull back exposure and the grain becomes so nice, without losing any of the character of the image or the shadows. I haven't shot it at box speeds yet, but the way 1600 still captures such great color, as well as detail in light, shadow, and midtones I really am sure box speed will be great too. Until we finally get someone making 1600 speed film again, I think Aurora will be my go to for color at 1600. CineStill 800t will also still get some rotation for that, but I feel that will be much more situational for me.
