The Rode Dead Kitten WindMuff is an amazing addition to my field sound effects gathering kit. It fits perfectly on my Zoom H4n as well as my beloved Rode NT4 mic! It's great at knocking the wind noise down! I'm thinking of buying another one as a spare. Great product! 5 |

The bottom has an elastic strap which slides between the foam and the mount so the dead kitten covers the SMX-30 fully. Works well in windy conditions. 5 |

I bought this mic to use on my Canon EOS 7D for video recording. Being used to broadcast gear, I realized how beneficial a good stereo mic is when compared to a mono shotgun when it comes to disipating wind noise. This mic will not disappoint and has excellent noise rejection and a great capture field. It's a well built mic that is easily worth the upcharge over a shotgun mic, even if you don't need to record stereo. The included dead kitten mic sock is different. I'm used to foam socks but the kitten is typically used on high end zepellins so it should be a plus. I just haven't had the chance to test it yet. Probably because I'm a dog guy, not a cat fan - LOL. 5 |

I bought the Dead Kitten to use with a Zoom H1 recorder mounted to my DSLR rig. When I put the Dead Kitten directly on the Zoom, it was still susceptible to some wind noise. I have the Dead Cat for my Rode NTG-2. I realized that the Dead Cat was meant to go over the foam mic cover. I rigged a foam cover and the Dead Kitten worked great like its big brother. I was able to shoot all day and wind noise was not a problem. Now I am ordering the foam mic cover for the Zoom. 5 |
