I use it to mount my Zoom H4n to my 5d Mark II. It works.

I use this lens with our company's Canon C100 Mark II Cinema Cameras. The zoom is smooth, as is the focus ring. The image stabilization is phenomenal. It is windy here most of the time and often I will get a bit of movement at a full zoom even if I am attached to a tripod. This pretty much takes that out of play. Definitely worth the money if you are looking for a more compact zoom lens.

When used with the Canon C300 Mark II: 1. Auto focus is fast and accurate. The autofocus does make a low noise which the built-in mic or an attached mic will pick up, use a remote mic on a boom or a remote lavalier mic. 2. Servo Zoom speed can be dialed from a constant very slow to very fast. The zoom buttons are a little awkward to use with the C300 since the C300's hand grip support and the zoom buttons are on same side. The zoom button location is great, however, when the camera is held sideways facing left while tracking someone walking and zooming out slowly for a location shot. 3. Manual zoom is smooth and the zoom ring is nicely positioned for left hand operation. 4. The lens, with stabilization turned on, and C300 Mark II are light enough to use handheld with smooth and well composed video. 5. By comparison, the heavier Sony FS7 and 18-110mm F4 zoom lens combo is (for me) too cumbersome for nimble handheld work. 6. When the camera is mounted on a tripod, there is a zoom remote attachment that makes activation of the Servo Zoom easy to reach. 7. The lens appears to have slight barrel distortion at 18mm which can be corrected in post if needed. 8. The CN-E# 18-80 T4.4 lens is not very bright. Here, the Sony FS7 18-110 combo wins. The Canon C300 Mark II (at 800 ISO) needs an EV about 8.5 or more for autofocus to work reliably. The FS7 (at 1000 ISO) can autofocus at about 7 EV.

Right after I purchased my 70-200 F 2.8L IS AF lens I found that there are occasions when I want to reach out a little further. Doing the research I was initially led to the 1.4X Extender based on greater clarity and pretty much dismissed the 2X as a possibility. I have been looking at adding the 100-400 L series zoom for my Canon but in the mean time purchased the 5D Mark II. I had the opportunity to try out the 2X with the Mark II this past weekend on the Mississippi river. I was pleasantly surprised to see the images at full zoom were very crisp. I could not see any appreciable slowing on AF photographing Eagle subjects at quite a distance. Even having to blow the subject up yielded remarkable detail. Some have remarked the 2X is a poor mans 100-400L on the 70-200L but given the results I have experienced it is a very inexpensive way to get to prime glass 400 zoom at a fraction of the cost. I have yet to try it on sporting events but from what I have seen I am very hopeful it will perform well.

The mark II version is a great wide angle zoom lens - works well on FF and crop sensors.

I've now used this lens on both a 7D Mark II and an EOS R with the adapter and it is amazing. The images I get with this lens have great color and contrast, coupled with the stabilization make for sharp, great looking images. I'm able to get sharp images at 400mm handheld in situations where I've struggled before. The detachable tripod mount is a nice change and works well. I especially like the rotation type zoom, paired with the zoom torque adjustment ring it's much easier to work with than the push-pull type zoom on the previous iteration of this lens. I previously owned a 3rd party 150-600mm lens for my wildlife photography and am much happier with this lens as I get better images throughout the entire range of this lens than I did before, and if I decide I need more reach I can always get the 1.4 extender. This is a great lens at a more reasonable price given the recent discounts. I wish I'd bought it sooner.

This is being used to mount a Zoom H6 to a Canon 5D Mark II. The weight of the recorder requires a strong hot shoe mount. This provided the stability needed.

I have the Canon 5D Mark ii, and the 17-40mm zoom. I expected the extra 3mm to be wide, but not THIS wide! Oh! It is much much wider than the 17mm is! Great for all purposes, indoors, outdoors! It is a fantastic lens. Expensive, but very very nice! I am glad I bought it!

I am absolutely in love with this camera. I’m a canon person so I also have the G7x Mark II, but this camera is far superior with the zoom, quality, and continuous shooting of photos. Only bummer is it’s not touch screen compares to G7x. But we’ll worth it and my go to camera out of the two for concerts, family events, or fun!

I'm just starting to get serious about photography and this is my second lens for my 5D Mark II (first one was 24-105mm f/4.0). I've had it for about a month and absolutely love it! Unless I know I'm going to need the zoom, this is the one that's always on my camera. It's light and fast. Its f/1.8 creates beautiful bokeh. Imagine how much it'd cost if it were a zoom. I use it mostly for portraits so the fixed focal length isn't a problem for me. As a matter of fact, if I need another fast lens, I'd buy a prime instead of a zoom.
