Minolta Professional Camera

i'm a professional who started with minolta 30 years ago, went to nikon through the f-5 film days and then to canon to the mark series and then to nikon through the d4. sony is the next generation and the future to me. mirrorless is pretty fantastic. there is a learning curve in using this little, tiny, itty bitty shrimp of a camera and it's also tricky remembering all the options in powerful tools. it works perfectly when you are sitting and moving at a normal pace, if you are chasing a news event or reacting to different fast moving situations, you better be well versed with the tools. it's just around the corner when this sony system will be the standard and everyone else will have to come up to them. the focusing on this camera is stinking amazing. and all the fabulous features in the a7s and on are all available in this baby beast! it's a good intro to the world of sony.

Have old Minolta lenses and currently use Nikon digital camera. The adapter allows me to use my old minolta lenses on my newer Nikon camera. Just working through the peculiarities of using old manual lenses on a fully modern camera. Results so far have been OK but I assume will improve once I get accustomed to the adapter and minolta lense differences. Ordering through BH Photo on line was quick and easy and fair price.

As a professional photographer for 28 years, I used the Minolta Autometer IVF I had bought at B&H for many of those years. Accidents happen and I looked to replace it only to find it was obsolete. That is, until I discovered the Kenko KFM-1100 Auto Digi Meter at B&H. Its identical to my Minolta and the 5 Degree spot attachment from the Minolta fits onto it perfectly. I couldn't be happier. Only the brand name has changed. A fine quality instrument I highly recommend.

I have been using a Panasonic Camera the FZ-80 and pretty pleased with the results. However, I wanted to move up to a full-frame digital camera. The Sony A7 ii is just above $1,000 and Consumer Reports gave it a great rating. Didn't want to deal with the cost of buying a bunch of new lenses though. So I remembered that I had a ton of lenses that worked on my old reliable Minolta X-700 film camera. With the help of the B&H representative, I ordered this adapter and it snapped right onto my Minolta lenses tightly. Then went to a local camera shop and they let me connect it to a working Sony A7 ii body. They showed me how to use the Sony focus peaking feature with the lens. Yes, it works, yes! Got old Minolta lenses of value? Then get this adapter! With the Sony A7 iii coming out, I will buy the Sony A7 ii, when the price drops soon.

I use Minolta based manual lenses and the quality is evident in the fit to the camera and to all Minolta based lenses I own.

I purchased the Watson CR123 rechargeable batteries(2)with charger for a Minolta 35mm film camera. I was reluctant at first because the disposable batteries are very expensive. BUT I tried them out and they are GREAT...They came already charged and work just as well with my camera. PLUS I get 2 batteries and a Charger for the price of 2 disposable batteries...I use other Watson chargers and am satisfied with their performance.
