This battery allows accurate metering on my Minolta SRT MCII. Alkaline or Silver Oxide batteries do not supply the correct voltage for accurate metering as the camera was designed to use mercury batteries which are no longer manufactured for environmental reasons. There are few other options (modifications to the camera meter circuit or expensive compensated adaptors) so this is my go-to solution. 5 |

I use this meter as a replacement for the meter on my old Minolta SRT MC II manual camera. I am currently a photography student who is still learning how to use a camera and I must say this meter has done wonders for me. It provides f-stops and shutter speed when pointed at the subject. I like the fact that I can have the camera on a tripod and not move the camera just to get a reading. The light meter appears to be weak, but do not let the appearance fool you. I banged it a few times and it is sturdy. 5 |

I looked and looked to find a correct replacement battery for my Minolta SRT-102, since all the newer non mercury batteries were higher voltage, making the meter somewhat inaccurate...and here they were at B%H right under my nose. A great product...a lifesaver for your old meter. 5 |

The cool thing about the old Minolta SRT cameras is that you don't need a functioning light meter to take pics. However, the light meter sure does make things a lot easier. I'm glad to have found this battery which outputs the correct voltage for these old cameras. Not sure how long it'll last, but considering it's about the cost of a roll Kodak Tri-X film, it's not a bank breaker. 5 |
