Minox Digital Pen Camera

I purchased an Olympus PEN-F as a personal collector item. No I'm not a collector, but I wanted this camera because of its superb performance and vintage appeal in a modern digital camera. It is a silver trim body to which I added a silver Kit lens and a brown leather 1/2 case. It looks fantastic and since it was one of the few digital cameras offering an old fashioned screw type remote shutter release, I had to add the final touch. That showed up in the form of a beautiful, natural wood, Soft Shutter Release button. The PEN-F is now complete. TAH DAAH!! 5 |

The best camera in the world is the one you carry with you, so I always carry a Minox B. Because the Minox has a fixed aperture f3.5), it helps to have a slow film, otherwise you are using 1/1000 sec and maybe even the ND filter half the time. The RPX25 is ASA25, and when developed in Rodinal (1:50) for 11 minutes gives really sharp, fine grain negatives that withstand reasonably large enlarging. 6x8”. When you considered the negative is 8x11mm, that is pretty good. This is my film of choice for fine grain and wide aperture. 5 |

Paperlike has made grading engineering student lab reports and research papers using my iPad Pro 12.9 and Apple Pencil 2 as close to using pen and paper as we can get in a digital world. This paradigm shift fits with not just our temporary Virtual teaching during COVID pandemic but also with our use of Canvas and Blackboard as our all digital LMS....no more physical paper for students to turn in and teachers to grade.....so how do we stay tactilely connected to the work? Paperlike on the piece-of-paper-sized iPadPro 12.9 combined with an Apple Pencil 2 that's how....it works and behaves like pen on paper yet it is all digital!!! Thanks Paperlike! 5 |

I use my Wacom tablet for creating digital art, so getting this tablet pen was nice after having the one before it stop working. It feels very smooth on the tablet and it's very responsive and even quicker than the one I had. 5 |

After some difficulty with getting the digital pen to work, I brought it in and got a satisfied demo showing from a salesman/technician that the product worked. Resolution was suggested that I check with Photoshop tech support. They helped me install a newer version and mow the product works fine. 5 |

I am a digital artist (specifically focusing on painting renditions) so this review will be focused soley on the artistic aspects of the tablet. Note this is my first time writing a review. It is also my first time owning a tablet (I've relied on other digital mediums till now). The Intuos Pro professional pen & touch tablet Medium is as everything it claims to be, versatile to your preferences and easy to use. One would think not being able to see your hand on the screen itself would cause hand-eye cordination problems, but transition is surprisingly easy (or at least it was for me). The things I most liked about it is: lightweight, smooth, pen batteries are long lasting (I often spend many hours drawing a day), versatile in multiple functions to suit your preferences, be it photo editing, painting, or simply using it in place of a mouse. The sensitivity can be adjusted, touch can be turned on or off, can be used by left or right handed users, it's fully customizable. It's comfortable to have in your lap or desk, and with a little time is easy to figure out. It's also rather durable (I accidently sat on it, but it seems to be fine.) The things I least liked about it were: drawing area is too small (though zooming functions are available), the tablet itself is slightly large and in the way; not meant for a small or cluttered desk. The pen nips wore down too quickly for me, became sharp, I worried if it would end up scratching the screen in the long term. I have read up on this and some people experienced the same problem while others have not, whether it's a common issue or not is unknown to me. Besides a few flaws it is everything it needs to be and the problems it has are minuscule and easily over looked. Would recommend to any other artist that would like to get involved in the digital art world. 5 |

Only had this a few weeks fitted to my Olympus Pen-F Digital but so far I am very happy with this lens especially at this price point. Initially it was out of stock but came quickly anyway. Images are very sharp and it feels smooth to use. In narrow depth of field the bokeh is okay but not dreamy. I find that close up it focuses very well bordering macro capability. Some sort of hood would be an advantage as it does catch the sun. 5 |
