Mirrorless Camera For Sports

The Canon R5 mirrorless camera sports a new lens mount that is not directly compatible with any of it's old lenses. However, Canon offers several version of the lens adapter that allows some versions of it's legacy lenses to be mounted to the R5. Luckily for me, all of the Canon lenses that I still use on my Canon 80D are compatible with this adapter. The control ring is very handy because it allows you to select which camera function it can modify and see while you are looking through the viewfinder. Some reviewers have commented that they are not happy with the additional length the adapter adds to the camera-lens combination. This is not an issue for me at all.

All I ever wanted in a Mirrorless Camera.

I ha e been hesitant to purchase a mirrorless, but the fact that this is the future and the fact that I could use my current Canon Lenses, it was a total win. Though I have only fired a few hundred pictures I am doing it photographing high school football which will challenge even my 1DX. The frame rate is not as fast as the 1DX but the operation in low light is far superior! Although I love the touch screen , for sports photography it is a nuisance as my nose hits the display and changes the focus area. Not a good thing. I will be disabling that for sports. I have yet to test the video out as I mostly do still photography. The feel of this camera compared to my 1DX is an absolutely amazing difference.
