Mirrorless Camera For Webcam

I use this with a cam-link to turn my mirrorless camera into a webcam/live cam and it works perfectly.

I have a years-old teleprompter for a tablet, but I use a mirrorless camera as a webcam at my desk, so to record videos in closer quarters, I needed something to attach to my mirrorless camera that was also small enough not to consume lots of extra space and require moving my desk around. This product is extremely well designed. I was initially concerned that it literally hangs from the lens, but it's incredibly lightweight and doesn't cause the stress to the lens mount or camera mount that I had feared. When working at close-ish distances, the use of a smaller prompter is good, as you don't want your eyes darting back and forth across wide rows of text. At just three feet away (in my webcam setup with a wide lens on the camera) reading a script from my smartphone produces a perfectly acceptable level of lens eye contact.. The remote control is the weak spot, but still functional. Just cheaply made and poorly labeled. But ultimately, I was able to open the box, set everything up, write a script, load the script, and shoot a video with it within the span of an hour. While the remote tends to speed up or slow down in coarse increments, the trigger button to pause and restart the scroll means that it's easy to play at--or just above--the perfect speed, and pause it along the way as needed.

I started out using this tripod for holding my mirrorless camera as a webcam. Tried several alternatives but this one proved perfect. Since then I’ve used it in a variety of outdoor settings and it proved to more useful than expected. It’s solid and sturdy, easily adjusted, and can be ever so small to a medium height. Acts like a miniature of my full size Gitzo.

I got this for using my phone as a webcam, and it is great for that. It can also hold my Nikon 1 series mirrorless and my Cannon SLRs with small prime lenses.

I come from a full frame Canon background and I recently picked up this lens for a Sony Alpha 6000 to use as a webcam. It not only performs like a champ as a webcam, it shoots photos well. AF speed is decently fast. It's certainly not the fastest but it's def on the fast side. Sharpness is also very good. I've seen sharper lenses but as a prime 1.4, its photos are pretty sharp. The size is large for a Sony mirrorless APS-C, but coming from full-frame lens world, this lens is much smaller than what I'm used to. It attracts less attention when you're outside. Overall, this is a relatively cheap lens that performs well on a Sony mirrorless body. I don't think you can go wrong with this if you're looking for a wide angle prime. Haven't really done portrait shots, but as a talking head zoom camera, it does its job really well. There are also many YouTube review videos and the they're very positive. Great value buy for my webcam, but sturdy enough for my mirrorless cameras and microphones. Love it on my desk and that it's adjustable. A solid stand!
