Mirrorless Camera With Studio Flash

This is a Excellent Flash, it is powerful and recycles very fast. It is a flash right between a studio flash and an on camera flash! 5 |

I have the SB-5000 which I use on my D-850, but wanted a smaller flash for my mirrorless Z6II. This is the perfect flash for my smaller camera. It has reasonable power and is adjustable. It has many standard features found on other Nikon speedlights, but also continuous LEDs for video. 5 |

The Nikon Z6 is a fantastic camera. I purchased a Nikon D7100 6 years ago which has been great and I was looking to upgrade to a full frame FX camera. I never thought about going mirrorless until I saw that there was a great deal on the Z6 at B&H. The mirrorless cameras have the same benefits as the DSLRs with a few differences. They are smaller, lighter, have a larger lens mount (Z Mount), and the electronic viewfinder allows you to see you're image in real time before you even take the picture. There is also no mirror slap which makes the shutter less noisy and reduces camera shake. A few drawbacks for me is that there is no built in flash which means there is no way to trigger an external flash without an add on flash trigger system, and there is no internal focus motor which means you have to focus manually if you use a lens without a built in focus motor. I must say that the focus peaking highlights which allows you to manually focus by viewing the screen or viewfinder and watching what area the camera highlights works phenomenally and I had no problem focusing my 50mm Nikkor f/1.4 manually under normal conditions. However, this would be in issue if trying to shoot something fast paced like sports/ action with a manual focus lens. All in all these few minor setbacks would not warrant me rating this camera less than 5 stars. My experience with the Nikon Z6 has been nothing but positive. I feel that Nikon has continued their trend of crafting fine camera equipment and I believe this Nikon Z6 will stand the test of time in extreme conditions just like my other Nikons have in the past. 5 |

This compact, on or off camera LED light, is a great choice for studio or location work. Normally I shoot flash but now that I have a mirrorless Canon R5, these high brightness LEDs really have a place. The NEO-3 is noticeably brighter than previous small LED panels. Where this really helps is to give a natural lighting of the clients. It gently fills in shadows and gives sparkle in the eyes. With the mirrorless setup, you can see this and make subtle on the go adjustments and not be relying on your flash to doing it during changing distances and conditions. Off camera, the built in gels are invaluable. Nothing else to deal with during a shoot. Just flip a button and you have sunset lighting, accent lighting, mood lighting, or any color corrected light that you may need. The magnetic mount diffusion really softens and blends the individual colors of the LEDs (very minor with this light compared to others) with very little light loss. The units are expensive but in my first outdoor location wedding shoot in flat light, this light gave me some great shots that a flash or ambient light would never have allowed. With that said, I do not think this unit is a good substitute for a flash. To stop action, you really need a high power, short duration flash. It is a nice concept but the flash mode of this light is just not really enough for serious stop action work. 5 |

Im using this case with my Sony mirrorless camera, a6300, three lenses (16-70, 70-200, and 12mm), and one flash. Plus some miscellaneous accessories. Im storing my 70-200mm lens and flash attachment in the outer storage pocket which leaves no room for other non-photo stuff I want to carry. But Im not usually carrying everything in any given situation, so I usually land up with extra storage. 5 |

I have a mirrorless camera with lens, plus one more lens, lens filters, flash trigger, 2 flashes, gels, extra batteries and chargers for both the camera and flashes and a little room left. This fits great in my 21 liter Goruck GR1 with about 4.5 inches to spare at the top of the bag. There's enough room for a rolled up wind breaker or lunch. 5 |

For a small selfie stick, off-camera flash, GoPro stand for action shot set-up, even medium-heavy set-ups from mirrorless or DSLR...this little guy can do it. Light but still heavy enough with the metal framing. Extension piece is a great little selfie stick itself. Ball head is small and adequate, even for mid-sized mirrorless/lens combos. 5 |

I purchased this messenger bag for my Fuji XT-2 mirrorless camera, 4 lenses, and a flash. The messenger bag is extremely well made, looks great, and fits on the shoulder comfortably. I highly recommend this product. 5 |

Wireless options for Sony cameras are limited. I own a Nissan i40 for my Sony mirrorless cameras that works quite well, so I took a chance on the new Di700A flash kit with the Air 1 Commander. The instructions were a bit hard to decipher but the set up was generally very easy and worked flawlessly. I've had zero problems getting the on camera commander and the flash unit to communicate and changing modes and flash power in the different modes is simple and works well (once you memorize which button does what). I have been using the flash to take photos of hummingbirds with my new A7RII Sony mirrorless camera. I am quite happy with this solution to the off camera wireless problem for Sony cameras. Plus the price is VERY reasonable. 5 |

I've been transitioning to mirrorless the past couple of years and wanted off camera flash capabilities for a Nikon Z 6 and an older Nikon SB700 Speedlight. Before the mirrorless camera, I used infrared built into my older DSLR and Speedlight). I've used Vello, Godox and Pocketwizard previously and knew the Vello was what I needed. Simple communication between my camera and flash unit. Very easy setup, just make the sure the channel switches match on both the transmitter and receiver. B&H got the order to me in a short period of time. 5 |
