Mirrorless Camera Without Rolling Shutter

I've had the Fat Gecko Suction Mount for about 3 weeks and it is fantastic. It favours glass and glossy surfaces but once its on, it will break what it's mounted to before it can be forcefully removed. I've mounted it to windows on the interior and exterior of cars and it allows for shots that definitely add a great dynamic to any project. I've also used it as a mount for timelapse shots where a traditional tripod couldn't operate. The set up is quick and easy since all that is required is to screw it into the camera's tripod threads which is fantastic for spur of the moment shots. I keep it in my kit at all times. Overall, the build is fantastically sturdy and the only real issue becomes evident when a camera with a rolling shutter is mounted to a car. It's no rig and bumps and shakes will cause the rolling shutter to go a bit wonky. But the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Highly recommended. 5 |

Used as a live camera for image magnification rather than recording, I'll only speak to that capability. First of all, we did an A/B test with the JVC-GYHC500U and this camera was far superior. No horrible rolling shutter, real colors, better low-light response. It just looked like a real image right out of the box. We are connecting to our video system via SDI and there is very little latency by the time it gets to our projectors. The dynamic range is impressive with details preserved in the shadows. Even when used in High Sensitivity mode for improved low-light response, there is no noticeable noise at +12dB gain, which is how we operate. There is a very slight rolling shutter effect when panning quickly, but we don't pan quickly so it's not an issue. All the shooting features you need to be successful are in built-in and fully adjustable. It's a professionally designed camera. The camera itself is quite light weight, so you don't need a massive tripod rig, though a good fluid head will be worth the investment. With the iZoom feature on, you get plenty of reach and there is no noticeable signal degradation when zooming past the purely optical range. We are shooting at around 45' from the stage and we're able to get decent close-ups. We're using an external zoom controller and are finding the response smooth and usable. Auto-focus is pretty decent, but it does hunt a little if the subject moves out of your focus area. If there are any drawbacks, one is screen size. I recommend an external monitor. The 1 sensor at a higher zoom levels means the aperture narrows to 4.5, which makes your depth of field gets quite deep. There isn't much separation from the background we're able to achieve in our setup, but that doesn't mean it's not possible in a different scenario. Overall, we liked the results enough to outfit our multi-camera setup with this product. Would recommend it. 5 |

I use this as a rolling laptop stand for tethered shooting in my studio. Without question it is best rolling stand I've ever used. Perfect height extremely strong and smooth operation. 5 |

This is my first mirrorless camera and I am extremely pleased with it. Some of my favorite features are electronic shutter @ 20 FPS, great noise handling, face tracking with eye AF (for people or animals), and of course the auto focusing system. I’ve only had it for a few days so I’m still playing with configuration of menus, buttons, and dials but I look forward to putting the camera to good use photographing birds in flight here in Florida. 5 |

Works great, looks great. Minor gripes: -Rolling shutter is a little rough in some modes -I wish we could get the 3:2 open gate as a raw output -I wish the custom white balance would show me the Kelvin numbers like a Sony does. 5 |

Without the camera strap you hardly notice these. I bought these so I could share my camera strap with other camera bodies. 5 |
