Solid construction, weatherproofing gives me confidence I can shoot outdoors. Autofocus hasn't let me down and is very silent, suitable for video use. O.I.S. is excellent and makes for steady handheld photos and videos. It took me a little while to get used to the push/pull focus ring but once I did I like it. I got this lens at a discount during a sale and pairing with it with an S5IIx purchase which made it totally worthwhile. At full retail price I would probably be looking at the newly released Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 but I am very happy with this lens. 5 |

I bought this for its ultra-light weight yet good weatherproofing, for the VR and for the supposedly very fast autofocus. I have found it to be the lens I truly love. I use it for Pelagic Birds, and it can stay in my hands all day without tiring me out. I usually use it with a Nikon 1.4 and on a D7200, although I do switch it to my D750 for landscapes. I have been amazed by the percentage of razor-sharp and gorgeous seabird images it takes. Thinking of a trip to Ecuador for hummingbirds, or Antarctica for shearwaters and penguins, THIS is the lens. 5 |
