Mixing Speaker Impedance Av Receiver

This product is very good for cooling the AV receiver.

I'm a guitarist, so I use it to plug in to the sound system. But I've used it for AV presentations and the like. The impedance matching switch is helpful for different levels of input, and occasionally the ground lift is a must-have. So it has all the basics I need in a direct box at an unbeatable price.

We have three in-house PA systems where various groups meet. Typically, images are projected from a laptop to a large screen. The AV 1 provides a quick, quiet connection between the computer or projector and allows us to pump the sound directly through the house system. Due to the multiple sets of inputs, it can be connected to a variety of sources without special adapters. The AV-1 also doubles as a direct boxes for plug-acoustic instruments. This make the 2nd Sony AV receiver I've owned and have been very satisfied with both.

We have a high end A/V receiver with only one headphone jack, and two sets of headphes with different impedance levels. Using a passive splitter resulted in one set of headphones being much louder than the other. This amp is the perfect solution. Small (important in an apartment), does the job with no perceptable difference in audio quality, and way less expensive than comparable units. I also like that the output jacks are in front. Makes connecting and disconnecting headphones easy. We mainly use the unit for home theater after our little one has gone to bed, so we can enjoy movies and TV without waking her. The only negative, and this is purely subjective, is that I'd prefer knobs to sliders, but it's a minor quibble. Highly recommended.

As a audiophile I have other headphones I prefer if I want to simply listen to music however as a pro AV tech, this Sony MDR-7506 is the ONLY headphones I want when doing any kind of pro use from checking a mic line in a live mixing situation to mixing audio for video, this is my choice headphone. The Sony sound is flat, not a lot of bass but is exactly whats needed when mixing as you want flat. The isolation is good when blocking outside sounds and I find the Sony will hold up to pro use, except the ear pads those are replaceable, I would suggest go ahead and order the extra ear pads as you will need them. I have been using my original set of Sony MDR-7506 at least 12 years of pro work and are simply fantastic! Never a short or any problems but I am on my 4th or 5th set of ear pads as in a pro situation I am very hard on these phones. You may find a better sounding headphone but when mixing or using in the field for anything pro AV, this is the headphones to buy!

Connected this little beast to my AV Receiver and blew some pictures off the wall !!!!! Love it.

I always wonder why we need another type of speaker connector besides the common spade and banana ones. This is my first time to use speakON and now I know why. Given the low impedance (4 or 8 ohms) of speakers, any reduction of resistance of wires and connectors would help. As for build quality, Neutrik is always the best you can find.

Hook this up to a pair of Yamaha 777 speaker ($ cheap). Use bi wiring with low impedance setting on amp. Spin vinyl in pure direct mode. May get a Yamaha subwoofer to match piano black finish.
