Modern digital photography is totally dependent on batteries and going cheap on who makes your batteries makes about as much sense as picking the cheapest memory card. In my experience the BLF19 rechargeable battery for Lumix cameras (specifically the G9) is a strong performer and, so far, I've never needed to use my backup battery after a morning of photographing raptors along the Gulf Coast.

I am new to digital photography. I come from large format black and white. I recently purchased digital equipment except for my strobes circa 1980's. I am totally unfamiliar with all of the modern language of photography. I knew cords were no longer needed to sync strobes with my modern camera. I called for help and ordered the Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord for my Nikon. I was able to successfully fire my Elinchrom strobes. The digital world seems much simpler than the old days of large format and waiting to see how your film develops!

PAST BODIES (modern): 5D II/III/IV, 1DX II, X-T2/T3, X100F, GH5, G9 CURRENT BODIES: LUMIX S1, X100V I've been using the S1 since it first came out, and while the camera was nearly perfect when I first started using it, its only improved since. Working both in camera retail and professional photography, I had the chance to try the pre-production model before release, and from that first moment, I knew it was something special. My first real test of the camera was a few days after it arrived as I then took it straight from Australia to India for a week of photo and video shooting in 40-50ºc sunlight and then Japan to follow up. Never once did I have an error message, never once did I have a problem. The stabilisation is unmatched and brings new possibilities to photography/video. The build quality is unreal, the design is incredibly well thought out and there is hardly anything about this camera that I can complain about. Sometimes I wish it had an anti aliasing filter, but at other times, the sheer sharpness of an image could bring tears of joy. I love this camera. I love what Lumix is doing. Buy one, it doesn't matter if it's more expensive than an A7 or an EOS. It's worth every penny.

I use this color quite often in my portrait photography for a clean, vibrant, modern look. I bought this as a replacement for the last one I had for almost 10 years.
