Monitor Going Black Randomly While Gaming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Going from an older gaming TN monitor to this. Amazing depth and refresh rate. Didn’t expect to like the how low profile the stand is. Don’t really use the smart tvish features but if you have a small room and want a TV and gaming monitor, this would work great. 5 |

The monitor itself is super impressive. One can choose between the HDMI and the Display port, and choose for it to either stand on the desk or be mounted onto a wall. At first, I have opted for the former, but unfortunately, it ended up claiming almost half of my desk. It might work better with a corner one however. As for mounting it, this was quite a feat! But it worked great. Once the monitor gets to work, it is truly a sight to behold. I have tried connecting it to both my laptop and my computer. While the latter had of course better results as far as for example vivacity of colours goes, it didn’t do too shabby even when connected to a laptop (although, naturally, one can see and feel the difference between the employed graphics cards). Work 12/10: I work in translation, so I often need to have several reference documents as well as dictionaries pulled up. In this regard, this monitor is unbeatable as it manages that and more, with no fuss or problems, mainly thanks to the "Samsung Easy Setting Box" which enables custom screen splitting, so that you can have different windows in predefined areas. While this sounds good as a concept, it does not work that well in practise as it bugs a bit. Free time: Gaming - let’s be honest, this monitor is in a category of its own. The overall picture quality is incredible, as is the depth of colours. 100-120 FPS is no problem, which translates into a truly immersive gaming experience. As far as watching movies and videos goes, this is something that needs getting used to, as there are bound to be some chunky black bars. However, this small drawback hardly outweighs all the positives. To wrap up, it does excellent what it was made to do – gaming – but is nowhere near shabby when it comes to arranging your work either. The single pane really spoils you, as opposed to working across two monitors, and I am not sure I would ever be able to go back! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the monitor for mostly gaming purposes but I do use it to stream videos and movies. I love how good the resolution is on it. Has a beautiful colorful picture and the black are black. For theoney I would recommend it to anyone. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded to the Samsung 32” Odyssey OLED G8 Gaming Monitor, and the difference is nothing short of spectacular. The color quality is awesome, thanks to the OLED technology. Unlike normal LED screens that go to a dark gray when displaying black, this monitor achieves true black by turning the pixels all the way off. This contrast creates a more vivid and immersive viewing experience. The HDR support further enhances the color, making games and videos look even more lifelike. The monitor itself is massive compared to my old one, which means I can only run one monitor due to the size of my desk. But honestly, with a screen this impressive, I don't feel like I need a second monitor. One of the standout features is the 240Hz display. This high refresh rate lets my new beefy computer perform at its best, allowing for up to 240 frames per second. My old monitor could only handle 144Hz, so the jump to 240Hz has made gaming incredibly smooth. The difference in gameplay is noticeable, especially in high-impact games where graphics are a key selling point. The monitor also comes with its own USB output, which is super handy for plugging in a charger directly. Another great feature is the onboard media center, allowing me to install apps like Netflix and stream shows with the same stunning color quality and fidelity. Overall, gaming on the Samsung 32” Odyssey OLED G8 is a dream. The combination of true black, HDR support, and 240Hz refresh rate makes every game look better and run smoother than ever before. If you're looking for a top-tier gaming monitor, this one is definitely worth considering. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this monitor because I needed something to take up less desktop space and to have good specs for gaming. Having 3 inputs allows me to change up the type of gaming or productivity I want to do albeit computer or gaming console. Going through some performance tests I found that the detail and sharpness are excellent. There are no breaks or banding in the color gradients and no dead pixels going through your primary colors (black, white, red, green, and blue). Brightness in the colors are uniform across the screen with no shadowing on the edges that I have found. When displaying similar colors you can still differentiate between the objects they represent. Back to gradients again, the transition is very smooth and does not show blocks or bars within the colors. Text is effortless to read with white on black or black on white without having to strain my eyes. The viewing angle is very good when looking from the sides and does not distort any imagery being shown. Last but not least the response time, when I ran it through some of the games I play I did notice a big difference with how jittery my old monitor was compared to the Armada. The Armada was very smooth while moving around in-game, zooming in on menus, and snapping to different points of texture. Along with that gaming aspect you can opt to turn on a crosshair to reference a specific point in your game while being able to change the color and change the position of where to put the crosshair which I found to come in handy for those moments needing to hip fire. The monitor arm was very easy to mount on my desk using the clamp style(does come with pieces to mount into your desk for a more permanent solution) and adapters to allow a higher mounting position. Easy to lift and lower, rotate portrait or landscape, and cable guides to hold out of the way. 5 |

I recently had to replace my UV filter on my digital camera. Going for the cheapest one, I found this filter. While examining it, it feels like it is actually better than the old one. I have not found anything wrong with this company or their filters. 5 |

So, I'm not sure if I'm the best person to be giving their opinion on this. Going from an ancient 7 year old 1080p monitor to a brand new 4K OLED I was bound to be blown away. That said, expectations met and exceeded. Especially when it comes to HDR. How far I have come in just a few weeks, from just happy to be gaming to being annoyed at any game that doesn't have a good HDR implementation. Next I'll be refusing to eat anything but caviar, I have truly found one of the finer things in life. Excellent? Absolutely. Worth it? I mean, if you've spent the money to have a rig capable of gaming in 4K, what's another $950 to make sure you get every last bit of wonder out of those pixels? 5 |

I use this adapter to connect a Microsoft Surface Pro to a second monitor. It fits nice and snug, never randomly falls out and generally works perfectly. 5 |
