I recently bought a new mono light for the studio and I needed a light stand that was able to hold the light. In addition I have on oder a heavy duty Light stand boom arm, and needed a light stand that would work with the boom and I think would be a good match.

It's been a few years since being in need of a new headphone amp. I've owned an older version of a Rolls headphone amp and I really liked it for my professional recording studio... so much so that I bought 4 of them for all my sound rooms. It's been several years since I left the recording industry but over the last year I've been podcasting with some friends of mine and I'm getting my new (tiny) home studio up while upgrading equipment when I have the extra cash to do so. I ran across this beauty that has everything I need, plus more! This is a major step up from the ones I owned in the early 90's. The biggest plus and difference is being able to use other 1/4 or 1/8 jack on the front. It saves me from making sure I have the correct adapter if someone brings his or her own headphones or earbuds. It also has the LINK/JOIN capability of which I have used on previous models and comes in super handy if daisy chaining more than one box together. Works in either mono or stereo. You can't pan but that's not really the purpose for which this was designed. If you need more individual control as opposed to a stereo or mono headphone signal, I'd suggest buying a small 4 channel mixer. It's quiet and discrete, I don't hear any extra added component hum or buzz even when linking two or more boxes. It's not having to drive a bunch of wattage so the unit itself doesn't radiate any measurable heat to the touch. My signal chain: I have my Soundcraft Signature 12MTK headphone out (stereo) TRS 1/4 to 1/4 split L/R into the headphone amp. I drive the Soundcraft headphone out gain about three-quarters to full. The headphone amp takes care of the rest of the gain. No hesitation in purchasing another one of these. No hesitation in recommending this headphone amp to others. I've owned other and less expensive headphone amps but none of them have all the functionality and solid workhorse longevity as the Roll RA53B.

I use this BE-117 Ball Head on my mono to my tripod. It just works like a work horse. In the Field or Studio this Ball Head is steady as a rock. With my monopod it holds where I need it to hold. Has to be the best for mono pod of any of my other heads. For any type of shooting on a tripod in the field or in the studio, this is a must. I've put my Gitzo and Induro as this takes the cake. Everything you can think of, this Ball Head is Ready.

I do upscalled in home studio recordings. For my artist headphone mixes I send out a mono signal down the TS return of my snake going into the "studio proper". Then I patch into the presonus hp4 from the snake and hit the handy Mono button and I'm able to maximize quality of my headphone mixes. When using cheaper boxes you get signal on only one side of the artists headphones due to my current set up. I think the mono flip adds a ton of utility to this headphone box. Get what ya pay for.

Great little mono light for in studio and on location. Used it with the TTL wireless and worked flawlessly. Not quite the power of a 400 or 600 WS light, but if you need that kind of power, you'll need a bigger light. For 90 percent of all my work, in studio or on location, this little light fills the bill.
