Most Expensive Keyboard Switches

I work as a writer and wanted to get a not-insanely-expensive mechanical keyboard for daily work on Mac and PC. The keyboard looks sleek and minimal, which I like, except perhaps the way the fn-media shortcuts look on the F buttons, but it still looks really nice. I'm not a fan of flashy LED lights, so I appreciate the fact this board only uses them for Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, and one for the FN toggle (and only when you activate those functions). I like how the keyboard only has a logo on the front edge, out of view during normal use. The Cherry Blue key switches work great for typing and I even like them when I do some occasional gaming. Yes, blue switches make noise, however, these are not obsessively loud and I actually find the sound soothing. The keyboard comes with a pretty durable cable as well. I haven't had the keyboard for an excessive amount of time, so I cannot vouch for its durability, however, it seems like a very well built piece for the price. (I will have paid $ after a $ mail in rebate that I am waiting for.) I received my keyboard on the expected shipping day and have no complaints with my order.

This is my third Das Keyboard product. Lost the first in a fire, and am using the second one on a secondary computer. Bought the Prime 13 for the Cherry brown switches and the keyboard back-lighting. As mechanical keyboards go, I don't think a better one exists. It's not as loud as the Cherry red switches in my old Pro Red model, but I added some MX rubber switch dampeners to make it a little quieter, anyway. It's nearly as quiet as a membrane keyboard now.

The Das Keyboard 4 Pro (Cherry MX Brown switches) is a sheer pleasure to work with. The weight of the keyboard keeps it stable on the desk, and the feel of the keys is satisfying. The keyboard is far from silent, but that is the nature of mechanical keyboards, and the sound is not outrageously loud. The tactile nature of click-click-click of the volume knob is just fun.

This keyboard is exactly what I'm looking for. After a couple weeks of use, here are my thoughts: + Cherry switches. Many keyboard manufacturers, Logitech included, are moving to their own mechanical switches so it's refreshing to have the option for the real-Cherry-deal here. +/(-) They're tactile and satisfyingly loud—perfect for at-home work but know what you're getting if you choose Blues before bringing them into the office. +/(-) No software. This is a pro for me—nothing extra to slow my computer down or be asking for updates every other week. But might be a con if you're wanting to program macros or remap keys. + Solid build. Aluminum face and not a lot of excess border around the edges. + Double-shot keys mean they'll never wear the letters/numbers off. I like the font choice for keys, but another commenter said they didn't like it. Personal preference. - Only one cable means there's no pass-through USB port on this build that sometimes comes with keyboards.

I love this keyboard, bought both colors. The only thing I didn't like where the switches but I changed them and now this keyboard sounds so thocky!

Most films for polaroids are expensive so getting a larger quantity was definitely the right move.

Great keyboard! You can literally feel the quality of its construction. Went with the brown switches and they feel great and are very satisfying while also being not too loud. I love the media controls and the two USB-C ports that give you the choice of where to connect the cord. Be aware, there is a small switch between the two USB-C inputs that switches input from one input to the other. If you plug it into a port that is not selected with the switch, the keyboard will not power up and may appear to not work or have a bad input BUT, all you have to do is flip the switch to correspond to the input location you plugged the cord into and you’ll be good! Additionally the aura sync looks great. All around great product!

Nice unit. Power plug and the switches work well. Used for webcam, USB sticks, keyboard and all works fine

I purchased this keyboard for use with my Mac. The build quality is excellent and the key response is excellent. My typing speed has improved dramatically compared to typing on a membrane keyboard. The media controls on the keyboard are a welcomed addition and the volume knob has a high quality click feel to it. The brown switches are also quieter than the blue switches. It's louder than a membrane or scissor keyboard but not as loud as other mechanical keyboard.

Grabbed one of these for work with the blue switches and I can actually type faster on it than the keyboard that I use at home. I will only use full sized keyboards and they have to be mechanical and clicky for me so this hits the sweet spot. Much better than the dozens of other low priced mechanical keyboards I've owned and nearly as good as the custom GMMK that I use at home. Can't beat this for the price.
