Most of the time new Photographers have no idea why they would need a loupe. That is a problem with our profession, lack of training and a willingness to accept second best. With this loupe you can find the problems before your customers and at a great price. 5 |

Most gel packs for speedlites were manufactured as samples for photographers to evaluate. Consequently, they were roughly the same size and shape as the flash head and had no extra material for an attachment device. Rogue has solved that problem. These gels have flaps that wrap around the head fully covering the flash screen. They also come with a rubber strap to secure the gel in place. The best part is the info about the gel color and how many stops they affect your flash printed right on the gel. Great carrying case too. 5 |

Amateur wildlife photographers who need 500mm of reach on a limited budget face a major challenge. Most of the Nikkor's are prohibitively expensive while the lower cost Sigma/Tamron/Tokina alternatives are less than tack sharp. Anyone sitting on this dilemma would do well to consider the 300mm f/4 AF-S plus a 1.7x TC. This combination will produce the very best images for the money -- the most bang per buck. I do not believe there is anything else currently on the market that will produce the same quality for a lower price. Hand held operation is going to be extremely tricky especially at 500mm. Most of us will need some kind of support system even if that's just a simple bean bag. This is not walkabout lens. 5 |

My wife and I are avid wildlife photographers. Most of our work is done using 300-400mm telephoto. These type of photos demand that the camera be held very still. Because we often hike to find our subjects a heavy tripod is out of the question. This monopod works really well. It is super light weight, easy to extend and collapse, and solid. I bought one from B&H a little over a year ago and it has performed flawlessly so I bought another for my wife. She loves it. 5 |

Most photographers use at least one diffusion filter for portraits, whether a professional whose clients need to look great, or the rest of us who want to flatter Granny at her 90th birthday celebration party. I have kids with iffy complexions in their adolescence and didn’t want to rely too heavily on Photoshop for the fix. For use on my Quattro DP2, this filter does a fine job of holding small details like eyelashes, yet blends blemishes well. (One caveat: a large blackhead or dark pimple may be accentuated, depending on circumstances, so a white diffusion filter or dab of concealer could be needed.) Since the eyes and lashes/eyebrows hold their detail portraits can be very flattering with this Tiffen product. It looks odd by itself as it appears to be glass with a pattern of little black marks all over it, where I more or less expected some type of black screen or grid. Not being an optical engineer and as well as the filter works, I chalk it up to FM. Also, I prefer to use Tiffen products in general as they have always be good quality, competitively priced, and made in the good ol’ U. S. of A.; what’s not to like? 5 |

For use with a non-converted camera, these filters do an acceptable job. Most IR photographers recommend doing a full-spectrum conversion and use filters accordingly. However, I am not yet ready to make that step and am using the filters on a regular DSLR with success. 5 |

Most professional photographers know this already, use a UV filter to protect the expensive glass you have taking the images. I use Tiffen filters because of the consistant quality. 5 |

Most photographers I know understand the value of having a 70-200mm lens in their arsenal of lenses. About a year or so ago my 70-200mm 2.8 lens would periodically have focusing issues and eventually would need servicing. I set my thoughts towards the FL but frankly at $2,800 cooled my enthusiasm. When B&H reduced the price it was a no-brainer to go after it. 5 |
