These mics did not astound me. They did not turn my $250 Epiphone acoustic into a $2500 Gibson J45. I did not sound like Frank Sinatra. They did not improve my gas mileage. BUT; they sounded awesome. These are not the Ferrari or Mercedes of the mic world; these are WORKHORSES. They sound rich, thick, syrupy and smooth while sounding clear and articulate. They ROCK on guitar cabs and sound fantastic in blumlein for singer/songwriter in-the-room sound. If you want a $4000 mic that gets used once in a while, this ain't it. If you want a great value on a pair of mics that you'll use on every single session, these babies are it! 5 |

Sachtler is revered as an undisputed leader in pro heads and the FSB-6 lives up to the reputation. 3 levels of silky pan and tilt drag goodness, and the carbon fiber stix are IMHO worth the extra cash and just ooze that high-tech something. Not sure if they are really lighter than the aluminum but they FEEL lighter. Three tension 'nobs' instead of six is a BIG plus when you're setting up lots of shots in a session! Walk like a man, and get this system. Thank me later. 5 |
