Motherboard With Ssd

This SSD is fast and easy to install to either a laptop or a compatible desktop motherboard. I have it installed in my Dell Precision 7550 laptop, to replace the older 1TB SSD that was there. Just clone your existing (OS) SSD to this new WD_BLACK SN850X, then update BIOS settings accordingly and you are good to go.

First of all I was under impression of how thoroughly this SSD was packed by B&H in several protective layers for its safe transportation. Installation on motherboard was simple and easy. For Windows 10/11 it doesn't need any special driver. I have installed Crucial Storage Executive software for future firmware updates and diagnostics. Benchmarks demonstrated very high transfer speeds and IOPS count, and stress tests showed very decent temperature with native motherboard's Shield Frozr heatsink, not more than 49C under heavy load. Overall I'm very satisfied with purchase of this SSD for its price/quality ratio. P.S. I hope Crucial will unveil 4TB model of T500 in this 2024 year.

I purchased this motherboard for a TrueNas build and it works with out issue. The motherboard booted right up the first time and has been humming along 24/7 for a few weeks now. I really love that this board is part of Asus's CSM line of motherboards and that a intel gigabit nic is used and not a realtek. my one criticism is that the labeling for the cpu fan header and the aux cpu fan header are reversed. The Asus X670E TUF Gaming WiFi motherboard works well with 3 NVME and 2 SATA SSD drives and the set up for my new computer went well. The power regulation works well, and it has so many options for advanced settings and overclocking. The BIOS Flashback works well too. The AI Overclocking features seem to work well too.

I am happy with the SanDisk 1TB SSD. It is so easy to install, format, and partition that "even a caveman could do it." I have it paired with a 500MB SSD boot drive. I didn't need this SSD. I just wanted it. Its attractive price was the offer I could not refuse. The SanDisk Dashboard reports that my motherboard limits the SSD to 3MBS, whereas the drive itself can handle 6MBS. This dampening of speed is the fault of my motherboard buses, not a fault of SanDisk. Even so, my i5 Windows 10 system is spiffy-fast and quiet as a church mouse.

A hard drive died in my aging desktop, and I figured I'd replace it with a modern NVMe SSD. Of course my old motherboard doesn't have M.2 slots, so I decided to try this adapter. My motherboard is from an era before NVMe's existed (Ivy Bridge CPU), so there was some concern for compatibility. Luckily, everything worked seamlessly! The heatsink is a bit gimmicky; considering the included thermal pad and that my SSD had some cover on top of its chips, I'm dubious about the actual heat transfer. Regardless, things seem to be running cool and smooth!

I have bought 3 of these from BH Photo. One had the heat sink included and I found this option to be good for the Motherboard I had. My motherboard had a heat sink plate you can place over the SSD once installed on the motherboard. The SSD skew with the included Samsung heat sink was a lot easier to install and worked well as a better option for me.

Oddly, the heatsink version costs less than the one without it. You definitely can't run this SSD without a heatsink. The heatsink that came with my motherboard is larger than this one, though. This SSD is extremely fast and I've had no problems with it.

samsung is known for their ssd's and if you don't have an m.2 slot on your motherboard, then you definitely need to pick one up. an ssd is basically essential for all computer builds now. the 860 pro uses v-nand which is a lot faster under heavier loads compared to qlc, so if you are torn between the evo or the pro just get the pro. if you are working with large files or many small files this drive's speeds are unreal. windows boots in literal seconds, and large 1440p and 4k videos are copied over in seconds. samsung drives are best in class, and you should not settle for any less.

I really like this card, but check your motherboard for bifurcation support and # of additional M.2 slots allowed at the ASUS site. Memory needs to support the PCIe Interface i.e. (Samsung 1TB 970 EVO Plus). For my ASUS motherboard, this card needed to be in the first 16X slot. My graphics card was moved to the third PCI slot. I bought two Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD, and moved my M2-2 SSD card to this board but needed to leave the 2nd M.2 slot open on this card. BIOS setting instructions from ASUS were not clear at all. I now have 5 non-raid SSD cards and I am very happy. The card also supports RAID if INTEL M.2 SSDs are used. Research was required to find the proper setup because the included documentation was weak.
