I read many reviews. I was aware range is an issue. I have been operating the radios in the FRS mode. Obstacles like walls and buildings absolutely reduce range. When I am using the radios at distances to a mile with few obstructions the sound is clear. So far I have not exceeded a mile. My range in a car talking to my wife in a house is reduced to 1/2 a mile at best which is not bad (IMO). Knowing this should help you understand that the range numbers are all inflated and you shouldn't expect results close to the stated maximums. I bought the radios because my wife and I are moving to a remote area with very limited cell service. I intend to stick to FRS unless I require the extra power of GMRS. The $70 license fee for 10 years does not bother me. The radios are a great value, home charger, car charger, ear phones for much quieter operation, and the options for customizing sounds, vibration and privacy are vast. Both Midland and B&H were quick to respond to my few questions. Again, no complaints. 5 |

I purchased these radios to replace a pair of old Cobra FRS/GMRS radios. With the recent FCC reg changes it’s tough to give up the FRS convenience but it’s a small price to pay and certainly NOT Midland’s fault. They continue to make great radios and I’m very pleased with this set. Just don’t forget to purchase your license from the FCC. 5 |

Have yet to completely exercise radios, but have done so enough to confirm basic functionality and compatibility with other Midland FRS/GMRS equipment. Satisfied with purchase. 5 |

As always, Pelican makes a great product, this case fit my FRS radios perfectly and does an excellent job of keeping them protected. 5 |

Great little radios, so far. Good range relative to similar Motorola Talkabouts. 5 |

I use Motorola radios for communication between crewmembers when on video shoots. When our hands are otherwise occupied with cameras, lighting, and audio, this remote speaker/mic makes portable radios more efficient and useful. This product works perfectly, with good transmission and reception. 5 |

The BizTalk radios and headsets work great with good range. The FCC paperwork with the help from a Frequency Coordinator was EZ. They will be used in Church security. 5 |

These “walkie talkie” and their headsets are wonderful. The transmit audio was robust and loud, in my video I barely have the volume turned up at all. Whisper mode was interesting, as it really amplified quiet "whispered"…. I got over 8 hours of use on a full charge, and they seemed to charge pretty fast on the desk charger. My main (minor) complaint is that you have to use the charging base with the proprietary adapter plugs, either the wall or car. It would be nice if you could charge the radios directly with a micro USB so there is one less charger to pack. Some glaring advantages over other brands: (1) They cost less; and (2) Once you figure them out they are an absolute no-brainer to use. They have the simplest buttons and menu/interface plus the nicest large display characters of any of the inexpensive radios I know of. Mastering these units takes maybe 15 minutes reading the manual. ***Read the manual The radios are durable and well built. Not surprising, since Midland has some great commercial equipment. 5 |
